Inconsolable crying

My LO (11 weeks) is mostly a very happy baby, until about 8pm. Then she cries anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours and nothing works to console her. We have tried EVERYTHING it feels like. When we go to bed (usually around 10) she magically stops, will take the bottle she had been refusing, and falls right to sleep. We have tried going to bed early thinking she was over tired but then she just screams in the bedroom. Anyone experience anything like this? Any ideas to help? It kills me to see her so upset and not be able to do anything!

Have you tried the 5Ss? (Swaddle, side, sway, shush, suck) it sounds to me like maybe she is ready for bed earlier. My 12 week old is totally ready for bed around 8-9 (which was what we have been working for so, yay). A few nights we've run behind and she was a major pumpkin.

Could it be gas? It took me FOREVER to figure out what a gassy LO looks like (ours pulls her legs up to her tummy and will sometime get a little red in the face) but the past few days she has been extra gassy which is making her fussy. Hang in there it will get better!

Took us forever to figure out gas pains. She cries almost like when she got her shots. Bicycle legs work well on that for us.

My lo had terrible gas. It ended up having to do w breatfeeding and my forceful letdown. Also, my lo will stop crying instantly when we turn on the blow dryer. Took us a while to figure out that one but it works like a charm.

Napping enough during the day? How long has she been up prior to her crying spells?

Babies usually have a witching period in the evening, and nothing is wrong per se (as pp said purple crying).

For us it's often him being overtired by then and overstimulated. Make sure things get quiet, turn down lights, and calm about an hour before bedtime- that may help.
