UO- I can't really say it, because it's mean and would offend some people who I don't actually know, but there is a certain profession that is highly glorified, but I've rarely met someone in that profession that I would call smart. And it scares me. I have a lot of friends in this profession...maybe I just have dumb friends and they give me this opinion.
FFFC- I still wear pajama pants from junior high. My favorites are my pink panther and my rubber ducky pants.
Related FFFC- DH recently caught on (after 7 years) on how to decode if he's getting lucky that night based on my pajama pants. Pink panther or duckies= no go. If I get fancy and wear purple, black, or grey sweat pants= it's on.

So curious about what profession you are speaking of? Healthcare related?

**STUCK**
My guess is teaching or nursing.
I don't feel that way about either profession, though I know many who do.
I think she's talking about teaching too and I disagree.
Inspired by @bunkinmama, I think women generally are terrible to work for. I am a feminist so it breaks my heart to say that, but if I never work for another woman ever that would be a-ok with me.
Amen, it's like they have something to prove. Way less bs working for a man.

Are they teachers? Because I know more imbeciles who have gone into education, and that scares the crap out of me. Just to be clear, I am NOT saying all teachers are dumb, just that I seem to know an unbalanced number of complete idiots who did horribly in school, have lousy grammar and now teach the next generation.

She said it was nurses, lol, but I (gasp) agree with this. And it makes me mad because I also know a lot of really smart, dedicated people who have gone into education. I feel bad for them that their reputation is being made by dumbasses and that they have to work with so many dipshits. And that your kid getting a dipshit or a great teacher seems to be luck of the draw.
DH used to teach the physics course that science education majors had to take when he was in grad school, and some of their performance made him want to homeschool. (Mostly jokingly, because I say absolutely no to that for us, but notquitejoking at the same time.)
Ugh! No offense to any of you here because I don't know you personally, but it's nurses. I have a friend that I only talk to for entertainment value (add that to FFFC). She says the dumbest things I've ever heard, and she's a critical care nurse. It blows my mind that someone's life is in her hands when I read the stupid shit she texts me. The other ones aren't the brightest either. I wouldn't want any of them dosing me (besides my BFF, she's an awesome nurse).
I totally agree. I am an X-ray technologist and had more clinical hours then the nurses I work with. Most of the nurses I work with which are supposedly critical care nurses can't think their way out a box.
We deal with high acuity patients that are having heart attacks and I hope that my other non nurse coworkers are there to save me.
An old friend of mine from HS is now a pediatric nurse. She's dumber than a box of rocks but she's very smart academically. Some people have street smarts, others book I guess.

I'm an academic advisor for nurses and I'd say it's roughly 1/2 of the ones I come in contact with where I pray to God they find a new program because they'd be terrible nurses.
I think there's a lot of professions out there that seem like a big deal when you're exposed to them more often like we are. My DH is a chemist and some of the super nerds he works with are the same way. All depends on the field.
I think there are people who can be really great at something and completely and utterly dumb in something else. (re: nursing)
Don't ever give me a mathematics question because you'll see the dumz come out like nothing you've ever witnessed before. There is finger counting involved and lots of mumbling as well as writing the problem out ten times.
Calculating tax or a discount? bahahahaha. Mind exploded.
However, I am fantastic with money. FAN.TAS.TIC. I am also great at remembering numbers. Tell me a phone number and I'll never forget.
So, ya know... just an example.
Me: 27 DH: 28
Diagnosis: PCOS, irregular cycles, old lady eggs. DH is fine.
Started TTC in January 2010. BFP December 25, 2011 between IF appts.
Meh, it is what it is. If it is healthcare, teaching, astronomy, rocket science or whatever, you can't generalize a profession based on the people you know.
FTR, both DH and I are/were in healthcare and so is my sister and a very close friend. My friend argued with me for hours that humans could not get worms (pinworms, etc) and decided I was a complete imbecile because her sister's boyfriend broke the bone in his penis (her rationale was that hard ons are called boners so there MUST be a bone in there.) So, you know, 1 in 4 may be a nut job- but hey, no profession is perfect.
LOL, you guys are falling down on the job. I am surprised no one called me out for contradicting myself here.
***
LOL I didn't see these as mutually exclusive--you can't generalize, but you sure can know some dumbasses, haha.
So I finally got around to asking the stripper name information of DH. Yeah his stripper name is Ginger Lapsley! Way better stripper name than LO and myself!
Re: Can we do an early UO?
Yeah Bobkat, you know the rules
And yes, names or GTFO. I'm feeling like it's nurses, or doctors, because as an ultrasound tech, you'd deal with them on the regular.

I sang Miss New Booty for the rest of the day yesterday after reading it in this thread.
