My LO is super interested in the potty and loves sitting on it. She has pooped on it once. I haven't managed to catch a pee yet. I've tried leaving her naked for 3 days straight and still didnt catch any. It's partly because she goes for so long without peeing and tends to only wet a diaper when she is sleeping. She might pee once or twice when she is awake. I'm sure many of you that have potty trained work out of the home and are away a fair amount, like my family is. How did you approach potty training? Should I still just ditch the diapers and go places armed with tons of extra clothes for accidents when we are away? I have zero problems with accidents at home, but since we are not home often I'm trying to figure out what to do. I'm not in a hurry and I want this to be positive for all of us. I just don't want to kiss the opportunity since she is so interested in trying to use the potty.
Re: Potty training when you are to home often
Personally, I would devote some time to it (maybe a 3 day weekend) to work on it before risking it out in public. This is what we did (we both work), and when DD returned to daycare she was potty trained.
But I leave and extra change of clothes for DD in the car now in case of accidents while out.
