Christmas crafts with LO

Can't decide if I should try to tackle some crafts at our house or go to a local pottery place where you diy there and they fire it. Have seen some cute ideas on Pinterest but looking for some inspiration or tips from some of you awesome moms on here :)

Re: Christmas crafts with LO

  • We are doing Christmas ornaments with handprint reindeer on them for grandparents & aunts/uncles :)
  • You are brave! Same here as AnotherDreamer. Alex just has his own ideas of how to do things, so it would be tough to get him to do pottery at a place where they do the burning and stuff for you. Maybe I'll get a white plate and some red and green sharpies and let him draw on it, then bake it. That could work. :-)

That's a cute idea, do you have a picture of what you're following?

  • We did these today, oh my gosh it's so much work and DS was so not cooperative but glad now it's my turn to do the work and finish the snowmen.
    Here's what I followed, I'll try to post a picture when I'm done :)

That is so cute! We may have to look at that idea here. :)

DS has done lots of crafts at day care & recently they made some ornaments. I think they are salt dough. I'm not sure, but either she didn't bake them quite long enough or the salt dough doesn't get very hard. They are all adorable, but kinda soft & I don't see them lasting through the years. I love anything that shows their hand prints. :)

I'm thinking about making one of those too, I don't have anything with his hand print, we did a stepping stone for DH for his first father's day but with DS's feet. There's a lot of good recipes for the ornaments on pinterest if you want to give it a try :) I think I'll have to do a distraction to get a good print of DS.

This is what I'm thinking of doing :) Depends on if I can get the children and their little hands to cooperate :Dimage
  • I'm hoping since DS has been doing so many hand prints at day care that we will be successful with whatever we decide to try.  We had a concrete patio poured this summer & tried to get him to put some hand prints on the edge & he just threw a fit & refused.  I didn't want to press it & get him upset over it so we never got it. Oh, well right!? :)
