Just wondering what other MoMs think:
Recently visited DH's family (who had never met the twins before). The whole time, people would say things like "oh, DS does so and so but DD doesn't" or "DD is very shy and DS is so outgoing…"
It just really grates on me, and I don't know if it's because I spend the majority of time with them alone or in playgroups where they are well known so there is no need to discuss each one's personality that way? Does that even make sense? So anyway, I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive but wanted to get other's opinion as well.
Where do you draw the line between descriptions and labels? How do you deal with others comparing your LOs?
Re: Describing vs. Labeling vs. Comparing
Now what to do about it? I'll have to get back to you on that one....but you're not alone. :-/
