Tipping ?

Do you tip your paperboy/girl?

I was paying my newspaper bill online and noticed a place to tip and was wondering...

Re: Tipping ?

  • I did when we got the newspaper.  We don't now.  I can't remember how much I tipped, though!

  • Yes, our newspaper carrier includes a little envelope with one of the papers around the holidays, which is self-addressed to him.  I usually send a $20 bill.

Honestly, I think I did tip once or twice at Christmas, but the last couple years, I don't think I did. (And now we don't subscribe anymore.) Flameworthy, perhaps, but if you didn't tip, you wouldn't be alone.

ETA: If the paper delivery person were actually a child, I think I would do something for them at Christmas. But the newspaper here only hires adults for delivery now. Maybe that shouldn't make a difference...
