Didn't gain enough weight

We went to the Pediatrician on Nov 11th because her reflux wasn't getting any better and she was miserable.  Our regular pediatrician was out, but the one who saw her changed her meds and formula since she was gaining weight great. She went off Neosure and on to Enfamile Gentlease.

So we went in yesterday for a growth appt and for 10 days she only gained 4.5 oz. (10lbs4.5oz). Pediatrician was not happy and I don't think she was happy we were switched on formula and meds at the same time.  Not able to tell which one made the difference because she is less fussy.

So now we have to fortify our formula (I don't bf). So they gave us some measurements for how much formula to water in order to bump the calorie content back to 22.

So we go back on the 5th for another weigh-in.

Ugh. That's why I dislike seeing more than one Dr. They all have different ways/opinions. Hopefully you'll get it figured out and she starts gaining again. Glad to hear she's feeling better!

Weight gain issues stink (been going through it for over a year) but it is really all about getting the reflux under control, then LO will start eating better. That was also silly on the 1st dr's part to make the change in both formula and meds at the same time. Last time we made a change, we were told to wait 3 days after increasing med dose to switch formula.

It just didn't dawn on me that changing both at the same time wouldn't show which worked.

Yeah, they kept the med dosage the same. 

The pediatrician also thinks she has Laryngomalacia, and we're going to an ENT for a second opinion. She grunts and squeaks all the time.  At first I thought they were preemie grunts...but she's still doing it.

Sorry to hear We went in for a weight check today and she gained 6oz in 11 days, which is the low end of what dr wants.

We're on enfamil enfacare (preemie formula), which is a 22cal formula and we fortify it to 24cal.

Hope both our LOs start plumping up!!
