Re: FFFC

  • @deltadawn89 - I'm with @biglewzer that even though there have been so many intro posts, I would have been ever so slightly butthurt if no one had said hi or congrats.  Definitely a good confession.
    I'm glad I provided a good confession!

Ok, this is absolutely ridiculous. And I have since totally made fun of myself. But, my feelings were somewhat hurt that no one congratulated me in my intro post. LAME!

Most of us don't open those posts anymore. Congratulations!!
    Thanks :)

You guys are too sweet. I thought I'd get a few people pointing and laughing at me. Or rolling their eyes. I suppose there could be some who are doing that and just aren't telling me. :)

  • Oh @tourqeyes I am absolutely terrified of two. I've lost sleep over it. There is nothing in this world I want less and I feel terrible for saying it.

  • But just because you have the same EDD as someone doesn't necessarily mean you even ovulated at the same time, let alone had sex at the same time. My FFFC is that my friend's daughter is really not cute. I hid her on FB because I got tired of seeing her kid's face in my newsfeed constantly. She thinks she is a photographer and thinks her kid is perfectly adorable so apparently all she does all day is take photos and share them.
@cookieinva  - I'm pretty sure Tealowl is aware.  Save the health lecture.

Also, that's a really shitty thing to say about a kid.  Wow.
Uh, yeah. I'm guessing you and your family look like you belong in a catalog, @Cookieinva? I mean, I've thought kids weren't cute before but to block them because they were so offensive looking... wow.

  • I haven't had sex since getting my bfp. To be fair, DH was across the ocean when I got the second line, but he has been home for a week and still nothing. He says he remembers how bad first tri was last time, but I'm feeling mostly fine for now. The biggest hold up is my being completely irrational and worrying something will get messed up. I just want to wait until after my first appt - doesn't make sense, but there it is.

  • Oh no hahaha! It is not that her kid is not cute! The pictures of her kid are not cute. Seriously, her kid might be completely adorable, but from the pictures you would never tell. They are always unflattering which seems so ironic given she considers herself somewhat of a photographer. I am guessing as a teenager this poor girl would die of embarrassment knowing the pics her mom has shared. And really I do not need to see 20+ unflattering and/or out of focus pictures a day of anyone's kid, even my own!

Oh. I totally am! Rolling eyes, pointing and laughing.

J/K I didn't even do an intro. I figured others would read them about like I do. If you are here, we know you are pregnant, so just jump in on the conversations. At least that was my theory.

My FFFC I am contemplating begging my parents to stop and pick me up some white cheddar cheez-it's at the end of their 4 hour drive to visit for the weekend. I'm out. And it makes me sad. But I am afraid my dad will eat them all. That would piss me off. I already told them to bring their own soda, because we don't keep it in the house and I forgot it at the store last night.

PS congrats!! I missed that earlier

I side eye the shit out of people who won't touch a drop of wine or sushi, and freak out over deli meat but see no problem with consuming fast food, soda, artificial sweeteners and other junk.

The only reason I won't be partaking is because DH is apparently a pregnancy nazi. He almost threw a fit that I was going to take a SIP of champagne at a get together the VERY DAY I told him I was pregnant (so that it wouldn't seem odd that I was turning it down). Like, almost made a scene in the middle of this birthday party. I just gave him the wide eye look and was like (through clenched teeth) "It will be fine, I promise you."

So to avoid that I'll just not do the things that traditionally are "unsafe" for pregnant women. Thank god he won't throw a fit if I want a Big Mac.
I would be hard pressed to let my husband dictate to me what I could eat during pregnancy. Now if I was trying to go on a bender, sure tell me how you think that is a bad plan dear, but FFS ease up on the little stuff. I have a friend whose husband "makes" her drink veggie shakes because he decided she wasn't getting enough. This just seems like a set up for his questioning parenting decisions later on.

Is that directed at me or the friend whose husband makes her drink veggie shakes?

I didn't want it to seem like he is FORCING me to do anything, because he is not and god help him if he tried. I could fight him on it if I really wanted to since I am much more educated on the subject. At this point getting into a confrontation with him about what I should/shouldn't be eating or drinking seems exhausting and I don't want to do it. Also, I probably exaggerated his reaction just a tad, but it did annoy me.

However, he doesn't seem to bat an eye when I drink a cup of coffee.

ETA: I also should say, I can totally understand why those things make him uncomfortable. It's drilled into our society that certain things are BIG NO-NOs during pregnancy. Hell, half this board is freaking out over deli meat.

Oh no, sorry it came across that way! I should have just made a separate post, but what you mentioned reminded me of my friend and her veggie shake shoving husband. I jumped right onto my soap box when I remembered being at her house and she was gagging down this green mixture that looked gross. The part you bolded was particularly about her situation. Everything I typed was bascially a spiel I gave to her good naturedly. I am quite sure you would tell your husband how it was going to be! You'll have the big mac AND the fries...with a coffee, haha!

At the end of the day, our DH's are just concerned with our wellbeing and thhe baby. It can just be annoying when they don't know the facts!

I'm terrified of giving birth. I'm terrified of being pregnant. I'm terrified of losing the baby. This whole thing is terrifying. I'm a giant ball of panic today. I thought it would be easier the second time.

You took the words right out of my mouth... I couldn't agree more! If it wasn't for this board I would think I was a crazy lady!!!

    I have two...

    1. My diet is horrendous. I had pasta fagioli for lunch yesterday, then a Wendy's burger for dinner. Then a cookie. The only thing green I ate was the lettuce on the burger. Today I had 1/2 a buttered roll for breakfast, lunch will be campbell's chicken soup and a kitkat. I feel like everyone else is eating bok choy, lentils and brown rice. I feel terrible.

    2. I have a big mouth. Now my best friend at work and the secretary know. Plus my mom, dad, sister and BIL, best friend, a family friend, DH's best friend and MIL. I'm 6 weeks on Sunday.
I have been eating Halloween candy my coworker has as snacks throughout my day. Make you feel better? :)

  • FFFC - I've now cried 7 times today.

    1. S/O shouted at me,
    2. S/O sent snarky texts at work.
    3. Watched this video: https://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/this-new-great-big-world-christina-aguilera-song-is-great-wi
    4. S/O texted me an apology that was sincere.
    5. Read this: https://www.buzzfeed.com/awesomer/the-most-touching-photos-ever-taken
    6. Clothes don't fit, I'm so bloated I look 5mo pregnant, worried Mom will notice tonight, cried in car.
    7. Cried again because I'm home alone and S/O didn't do the dishes and my plant is dying.

How come? Just curious since the group encourages the intro post - but if no one reads, should we bother? So many rules!
  • I lose track of all the intros. I feel like since I posted mine there have been a million (slight exaggeration). I'll get to know you all through your gif skills and witty comments on posts.

Others read new intro posts, so by all means, intro your hearts out!
