Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Stop dream feed?

Hi

My baby is 6 months old. She is asleep around 6.30 PM and gets up around 6.30 AM. I've been doing a 'dream feed' around 10 but she always wakes up and lately gets quite mad about it. She still eats quite a bit but is in a really bad mood when I first take her out of the crib. I have wondered if I'm disrupting her sleep (she moves around a lot at that time of night, sometimes wakes crying) but then also worry that if I stop the dream feed, it's too long between her last feed (approx 5 PM) and her morning feed the next day (sometimes 7 AM). 14 hours seems way too long to me - any thoughts?

For context, she is EBF and just started solids but is really just tasting them, not eating.

Thanks!

Re: Stop dream feed?

  • I only feed DS if he actualy wakes up and cries. If you're picking her up while she's sleeping & she's not liking it, it's ok to stop

  • Agree with PP.  It took me some time to figure out but if DD is just moving around in her crib I don't go in.  If she is hungry or something is wrong she'll let me know with her loud cry.  And 14 hours isn't too long - your LO might just make up for it by eating more during the day.
  • Ok, thanks! I'll give it a try :)
