Re: UO!

  • I like to look pulled together in the morning before I see B. Not full face or anything but contacts in, eyebrows filled in, under eye concealer and lip balm. I recently did a MOTN diaper change and she just stared at me in my glasses in the lamplight, like who are you? I guess I feel like I want B to think she has a pretty mom. At all times.

  • I don't understand the obsession/admiration of Jennifer Lawrence.  I think she is highly overrated.  Her acting isn't even that impressive.  I still don't understand how she won the Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook.  I thought Bradley Cooper was brilliant, but her?  meh.

  • My Christmas tree is up and I have been listening to Christmas music all week long! I'm still looking forward to Thanksgiving but I wanted to enjoy the effort for as long as possible.

  • My UO is actually super popular around these parts but IRL it's not.

I don't think it is necessary to bundle up your kid in their car seat. It's unsafe. Duh. MIL thinks T is going to get sick if we step outside for 10 seconds to run to the car. Newsflash: Cold doesn't make you sick. Germs do.

Also, T will be in a full back booster until the max allowed weight and height on his seat. I don't care if he will be 12 years old when that happens. Safety first. My mom looked at T and said "poor kid" when I said this. At least she follows my decisions, even though she thinks I'm neurotic.

Would you do the same if you had a son?
I do this with DH. If I get up before him, I put on a little concealer, brush my hair and teeth. I even put on a little concealer after my night shower if we're going to hang out for a bit before bed. I don't lounge around in ratty old sweats. I wear cute pj's or yoga pants and flattering tops.

Yes I would. I was already doing this with DH. Same as you described.

  • I get more upset about parents who knowingly send their sick kids to school or daycare than I do about those who send in kids who haven't been vaccinated.
  • Green bean casserole is the devil. Yuck. :-&

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • Your DHs are lucky!

But this spurred on my UO.  I love ya'll but have to disagree respectfully.

I think it is necessary to be myself with my kids. It is healthy for them to see me being comfortable with no makeup, relaxing and playing and comfortable in my own skin.  I like to dress up and put my "face" on, but also teach them that no matter what your skin/hair/clothes look like it is about who you become on the inside first.

I agree. I like to make an effort but seeing the real deal is nice too. Same with H. He doesn't always look snazzy for me.

Apples and oranges to me. They both piss me off.

I can't tell you the number of times I got the stomach flu because of some asshole parent. "He threw up this morning but...." but what? Keep your kid away from us until he's no longer contagious.

I have no intention of passing along my hyper self consciousness. But I think taking 3 minutes to tame the scary morning face and breath is still the real "me".

  • I love the gelatinous non chunky cranberry sauce out of the can.

    Me too!

@carolyn231723 I actually feel the exact same way about red wine. I much prefer white.

agree! you know that every kid thinks their mommy is the most beautiful woman in the world.

  • My family insists on three kinds of cranberries: raw cranberry orange relish, cooked cranberry lime sauce and Ocean Spray from the can. I can't decide which I should make since I'm not having three kinds for one extra person.

I only wear make up on special occasions.

Occasionally I will wear lipstick and mascara to church on Sunday, but the last time I really had a full face of make up on was for my sister in law's wedding on September 7th.  Before that, it was my Dad's wedding, August 17th.  I had to go out and buy concealer because I didn't have any.

    It's mainly because I'm super lazy.  ;)

  • I love yall, but I do not get all prettied up for DS, and especially my SO. I woke up this morning with the same makeup fron yesterday, rock star hair, Phillies pjs, and no bra. I don't shower, or get beautiful until I've thoroughly enjoyed a cup of coffee.
  • I think cranberry sauce in general is kinda gross.  Most turkey dinners I don't serve it at all unless my MIL brings some of her home made stuff, and then only because she brought it.

Cranberry sauce may actually be the most important thing to me after the turkey. Sometimes I make it just because.

  • I love wearing a bra. The only time it comes off is when water is involved such as a shower or the pool. I even wear it during sex.

    raw cranberry relish!!!  Yummmm.

  • I love the gelatinous non chunky cranberry sauce out of the can.
To be funny, I always lay it on a little plate still in the shape of the can and serve it like that.
Cranberry sauce is only worth eating if it still has the can ridges.
  • My dh wishes I had cute pj's but I mostly wear old sweats. Weekends I hardly ever get ready with make up and hair. They are my days off! And I don't like cranberry stuff at all.

Mine is lame but I don't like stuffing/dressing. I think it's all nasty!

I feel better when I'm a little more put together. If I feel better, that comes through in my attitude.

  • I hate anything with cranberries in it. I also don't like cheese.

To go along with the makeup theme, I very rarely wear any. Or get dressed up for that matter... I get to change out of my pjs and into my yoga pants to go to work :)

  • I have a hard time thinking of unpopular opinions.

I mean, I have some, but I hate starting fights, so they all go hide in other areas of my brain when I try to think of one to post.

Maybe disliking fights is an unpopular opinion.  Although we never fight on here, so may be not.
  • I like folding laundry

I don't like kissing unless it's right before sex and I hate cuddling, especially on the couch. Give me mah space!
  • I really cannot wrap my brain around enjoying wearing a bra. That is just wrong.
  • I hate babysitting strangers' children at the park. Every time there's some parent or care provider who is on their phone, talking to other adults or otherwise too busy to attend to their child. They inevitably flock to me. They try to pick Howie up and ask me to lift them into swings. I feel bad for the kids but the adults enrage me.
