I know, I know...ANOTHER sttn thread. Don't worry, I don't need advice. My baby sleeps when she sleeps. All that rice cereal I give her works wonders. (Obv kidding here, don't get your panties twisted)

DH and I were discussing co sleeping and how we would never get quality sleep if we did (LO grunts like 10,000 men in her sleep). This made me wonder if there is any trend in lo's sttn in their own room vs your room.

So...which applies to you?

What's your definition of sttn? LO usually sleeps from 9 to 8 waking up every 4-5 hours. I don't know if that counts as sttn, but I'll take it!

DD moved to her nursery at 3 weeks so I'm not sure if she would have sttn in our room eventually, but she is so freakin loud!
She just started doing it on her own at about 8 weeks in her nursery.

SS. Mine just started sttn this past week. She sleeps in her cradle next to my side of the bed and then when she wakes up for the first time (after her 5-6 hr stretch)/ when hubby leaves for work in the morning she sleeps next to me in bed.

SS... We co-sleep and he wakes up during the night and nurses 1-2 times, but usually goes right back to sleep. Most nights, I hardly notice. He starts off in the co-sleeper, but ultimately ends up in the bed.

My LO is a very loud sleeper.... she sucks on her hand and talks, so she's been in her crib since the week we brought her home. Her room is down the hall from ours, and I have become a very light sleeper and hear her the second she wakes up.

OMG get out of my head! I was just thinking about doing this on my drive home from work tonight. LO is a very loud sleeper and SSTN now that she's in her nursery

He usually does 3 to 4 hours in te cradle and ten wakes to eat and finishe the night next to me.
We put him down at 8 pm and we are up for the day at 7

We have a grunter so he's been in his own room since about week 5. We currently have a pretty normal STTN schedule from 8-3, quick snack, then 3-7:30.

My LO sleeps in a bassinet in our room but not right next to our bed. She has been sleeping through the night for a while but recently her morning wake up is getting later and later. She doesn't make a lot of noise when she sleeps so she doesn't bother us even though I am a super light sleeper.

LO does a 4-5 hour stretch when she first goes down then is up every 2-3 hours after that and she is in her crib in her room since she was about 6 weeks old cause she was to loud in our room!

He does a good 4 hrs in the RNP by my bed. Then it all goes to hell. Anywhere from every 2-3 hrs after that. By 7a I shove DH over and put him in bed. Then we can all snooze off and on till 10a. I don't trust DH to cosleep (he doesn't trust himself either) even w/ a snuggle nest.

Tonight I finally put a halo sleep sack on and put him in his crib. He's been asleep since 8p (it's 11pm), so I'm hopeful that we found something that works!

Hopefully we can have him in his nursery. I'd like to not trip over the RNP anymore.

He actually started sleeping longer immediately when we moved him to his own room. He usually does a 7-8 hour stretch, eats, and then goes another 2-3 hours. He is in the Merlin in his crib.

She sleeps from 9-5ish usually in her room then eats and is back down til 8 all in her crib. However since she started rolling over a bunch we are trying to transition her out of the swaddle but she sleeps like crap without it. Hopefully we can get back to that schedule soon.

This. He has STTN for the last two nights. But he usually gets up after a five to six hour sretch from 10 to 3 or 4. Then he will get up again around 7 or 8. 

He sleeps at the foot of our bed in his pack n play.

Emma usually goes down around 8/9 abd sleeps until 3-4 and then up again around 7. We cosleep. Once she did 8-12, then 12-530 which was amazing.

She sttn in her crib in our room. Hopefully when we move, that will make the transition to her nursery easier.

LO does a 6 hour stretch followed by a stretch of anywhere from 3-5 hours and finally a 3-3.5 hour stretch (which could be considered a morning nap since it happens from 6/6:30-9/10 am. All of this is in the nursery. We transitioned her out of our room at just under 8 weeks old, so I don't know if she would do long stretches in our room. Also, we wake her after 6 hours because she's still having some weight gain issues - I think she would go longer if we let her because she's usually fast asleep when I go in to wake her.

DS doesn't sleep, but my DD sttn consistently from 12 weeks on. She did it once in our room so we moved her to her room and it was obvious that we were waking her in the night. I wish DS had his own room so I could put him in it just to see what happens!

Hmmm....it seems like the location doesn't matter much but more the circumstances of the rooms (noisy LO, snoring parents, room temp, etc). With us, it was obvious LO was keeping us awake and I think I was getting her up when she didn't really need to.

I'm taking this as further evidence there is no rhyme or reason to babies. They do what they want, when they want.

Joel slept great both co sleeping or in his crib. Except for never napping.... I got a great sleeper...

LO was STTN until 16 weeks. Now we're up 1-3 times per night. He's still in our room in the cosleeper. I'd like to transition soon but am having a hard time with it.

LO does sleep for 5-6 hours but sometimes it is 6-12 midnight or sometimes its 11pm-5am. It just depends on the day and when he had his last nap.. I do not try to keep him up until a certain time. If he's tired, he's tired.

LO will be 13 weeks tomorrow and STTN more often than doesn't so I voted yes and she is in her nursery. She goes to bed at 9pm and usually will sleep until 5:30-7am. Some nights we get the 3am wake up call...but not too often anymore.

LO has slept in our bed from day 1. I wouldn't get any sleep if she were in a nursery. MH and I like the family bed. If she's in there till she's 10, we would love every minute of it. She won't want to be close to us like that forever

This is our 5th child, my third from birth. I am always amazed at those who have kids that sleep through the night. My three year old still wakes up between 12 and 2
I know at her age it is a habit but for the life of me I have no clue how to break it

STTN? Lol. We are up 4-6 x a night. There is no way I would be trekking to the nursery that often in the MOTN. Like Rooster, we will probably co sleep as long as possible.

That's how we feel. We plan on getting a king size bc of that reason

I've given up trying to start in the cosleeper and just lay her next to me on the bed. she sleeps from 11 til 9 or 10 most nights. She eats twice but never actually "wakes up" she just starts rooting for the boob in her sleep which wakes me up enough to pop it in her mouth then we both pass back out.

DD2 sleeps in a co sleeper right next to me. Some nights I get a 4-6 hour stretch. Some nights I don't. 

She's also a grunter. I'm getting used to it. 

With DD1 there was no doubt she slept better with us than in her own room. 

You'll figure out what works best for you. And as soon as you do LO will change and you'll have to figure something else out.

LO slept in a cosleeper with us for the first few weeks, then in a bassinet in our room for another 4 ish weeks and would wake up every couple hours. She also grunted constantly and it didn't seem like she was getting good quality sleep (and I certainly wasn't either because I'm a light sleeper.) Since moving her into her own room she rarely grunts and usually sleeps at least 5 hours straight. The past several nights she's been sleeping for 7 hours straight, waking up to get a change and eat then sleeping for another couple hours!
