There is an article on here that tells you unsafe meds but of course the best thing to do is call your doc's office. I was told that Tylenol is okay to take and DO NOT take anything multisymptom or time released. You can try saline mist for your nasal passages also. Good luck!!!
I did the hot water in a bowl, towel over my head thing. Maybe add some peppermint tea or eucalyptus oil to the bowl. Really gave me some relief. Sucks though to not be able to take the heavy duty stuff.
I like to take nose drops when my nose gets stuffy but that are outlawed during pregnancy. I have heard of some doctors prescribing "baby" nose drops (smaller dose)
In my pregnancy packet I got today, it said that most women can take Sudafed?
I talked to a friend who just had a baby and they said sudafed also which I had so I took one. So much better!
I have a Neti pot too which I've tried once and it grossed me too much! Plus SO used it after me and there's no way I'm sticking that thing in me now, I need my own!

check with your dr but i was told ocean complete nasal spray daily and warm showers (or any sinus rinse /neti pot type item ) only at this point (im high risk) once the 1 trimester is over there are more options for me... I'm very prone to sinus infections too but it is helping :-)

Ocean Complete Nasal Rinse does rock. I've been using it to get me through a head cold. Similar to a Neti Pot, but more hygienic! For the full effect, use Qtips and Ayr Nasal Gel afterward to get the leftover gunk out. Gross but totally effective. All completely pregnancy safe and amazing! I think it works better than cold meds, honestly.
FYI don't use Vaseline in your nose; you can get a pneumonia based on the fats in the Vaseline as lungs can't handle fats. The Ayr stuff won't do that as it isn't fat based (yay!).

I am about to go blow myself out. Use distilled water and keep it next to the heater vent so it's warm.
