I almost forgot!

On my way to work this morning, I saw a man in a pick up truck holding a baby on his lap! It was maybe 9-12mos old.

This would make the THIRD time in about three months that I have seen unrestrained children in a car. The other two times, the kids were preschool age.

Re: I almost forgot!

  • I would have called the police and reported them. Absolutely unacceptable. A holes.

Absolutely unacceptable and TOTALLY NO EXCUSE. When we came back to the states we took our car seats to a fire station to get properly installed, not only did they do it for us, but they also told us about country programs that practically give car seats away to families who qualify based on their incomes, so no reason not to have a properly installed car seat in your car.

  • I call the police every single time.

Actually it's an organization called safekids.org. They are nationwide,  and they give out car seats, smoke detectors,  bike helmets, etc.
  • There are places that help with car seats in every county people just have to look and ask which they don't.

Here there wad just an accident where a mom was speeding over a railroad track and flipped the car. Her 6 week old twins were not in seats that were correctly put in the car nor were the babies big enough for the seats they were in. It's horrible.

  • I thought about calling the police, but the truck turned a corner so that it was driving the opposite direction of me. I wasn't sure what to say.

I was thinking that maybe they were having a medical emergency because the hospital is nearby, but the baby was wearing a winter hat. I would think that I would forgo a hat before the car seat.
