So DS2 is cutting molars on top and bottom and he just opened his mouth and I thought I saw something. At first I thought his bottom molar had come all the way in and I thought that it was fast. But I looked closer and it almost looked like a square-shaped blister or chunk of his gum just hanging there off the gums! I pushed it kind of and it didn't seem to bother DS2, but it looks weird and I've never seen that before. I tried to take a pic, but he wouldn't let me. Does this sound normal???

This exactly happened to us when DS's bottom molar came in. First there was mushy looking flappy skin, that's the only way I can describe it. It was almost kind then of brown. Then it turned black under the gums and I flipped out and called his pedi who said it was normal if he wasn't running a fever and didn't seem to be in extreme pain. His tooth came through a day or two after that, so maybe a week after the mushy spot.
