Even though we are all awesomely confident mamas, there are still times ourlittle munchkins give us heart attacks. What are the most recent ones?
Here's mine:
A couple of weeks ago, Fifi was feeling icky as a reaction from a vaccine and woke up in the middle of the night. I went to her room to comfort her but I was so exhausted and dear husband was at work so I decided to take her into bed with me to see if she would fall back to sleep. I had her lower on the bed so she was nestled into my armpit. She quickly fell asleep and I was able to drift off as well. Of course, I was sleeping very lightly and opened my eyes every time the bunnies scratched in their cages, the house settled or a loud car passed the house. A few hours later I heard a faint "thud" and opened my eyes. I looked to my right, NO CHILD! My heart immediately began racing. I look up towards the head of the bed and between the two sections of the headboard all I saw was her little butt and legs. ACK! I gently grab her legs and slowly pull her back onto the bed. She half opened her eyes, rolled over and fell gently back to sleep as if nothing even happened. Whew! Of course, once I knew she was fine I couldn't help but laugh quietly but uncontrollable about the whole thing. I still keep picturing her little butt and legs being the only things I saw. Ah, thanks for the extra grey hairs, Sophia!
