I'm a STM, expecting DD2 in January. I had an emergency C-Section 2 years ago this Thanksgiving due to a failure to progress past 6cm, and a baby that was sunny-side up. At the time, my OB said I was an excellent candidate for a VBAC, should I chose to, next time around.
Well, with this pregnancy, we were slightly on the fence until I realized that I wouldn't be able to pick up my 2-year-old after her sister was born for eight weeks if we went with a repeat c-section. We decided to proceed with the hopes of a VBAC, and received full support from our OB and staff. This pregnancy has been extremely "uneventful," meaning no complications. That is, until last week.
Long story short, I ended up in the emergency room after 3 days of on-and-off dizzy spells that were not made better by change of position, lying down, drinking water, or diet. The ER doctor took me out of work for a week and wanted me to follow up with my OB and an ENT during that time off. We went to the OB first, just to make sure our baby girl was ok. My Dr. was concerned about low blood pressure, and said that this was most likely the culprit. In most pregnancies, low blood pressure and dizziness should peak around 22-24 weeks, and then subside almost immediately, and she was slightly concerned that I was still so affected at 30 weeks.
The baby's heart rate was fine, and her growth is right on track, but my Dr. does not seem so keen on letting me try a trial of labor anymore, and neither does my husband for that matter. I haven't been dizzy for a few days, and I go back on Monday for my 32-week appointment, and am kind of at a loss on how to proceed.
Thanks for reading. Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
