*****************^ As I said. If there is an underlying medical issue for which the risk is greater when receiving the immunization- fine, that's perfectly understandable. It's not all black and white. But choosing not to vaccinate your child puts MY child at risk and that is not ok.
That's the thing with vaccine injury, it isn't only the sick kids deemed at risk who sustain it.

There are also, for many people, religious beliefs that contribute to the choice not to vaccinate. And assuming that a child's life isn't at risk when receiving a vaccination is an ignorant statement. You may deem the risk worth it for immunity but many others do not.
    Can you elaborate on this?
Sure, I realize that there are groups of people that we suggest not vaccinating (those with certain allergies, sicknesses, etc.). But to say that there is no risk to the general healthy public when vaccinating is not true. So, we try to prevent vaccine injury by not vaccinating those most at risk for side effects but that doesn't mean that any of our healthy children will not be injured in the process of the recommended vaccination schedule. Some of these injuries are lifelong and some result in death.

    6. Vaccines? YES and I think it is extremely irresponsible to say no. ETA: If you don't get your child vaccinated you shouldn't be allowed to send them to school with other children. My kid isn't going to get polio cause you have beliefs.
    Amen.

My ultimate answer for each and every one of these things is "whatever you choose for you is the best choice". I don't really care what you feed your kid or what they wear on their ass, but these are my opinions on what works for our family. If you don't vaccinate your child I think you are stupid. I have no problems mincing those words. 6. Vaccines? This is the only one I think I would judge someone else on. Hell yes for vaccines. Unless your life will be at risk for getting them, don't put my child at risk for not. Why the eff wouldn't you?
As a parent and care provider who has seen and experienced vaccine injury firsthand, this isn't so cut and dry. There are also, for many people, religious beliefs that contribute to the choice not to vaccinate. And assuming that a child's life isn't at risk when receiving a vaccination is an ignorant statement. You may deem the risk worth it for immunity but many others do not.

And some aren't. As someone who had a child with a reaction to the MMR vaccine and still chooses to vaccinate, the minimal risks of the vaccine itself outweigh by far the risk of the disease we are vaccinating against. I'm not coming at this from an uneducated standpoint, I assure you. I've some my research and spoken to doctors. Likewise, I'm sure you've done yours.
I guess the difference here is, I don't think you are stupid but you seem to think I am for making a different choice.

@cyndelgrace Fair enough, that was a little harsh of me to write initially.
Thanks for saying that. I think it's important for families to make an educated choice and clearly we can agree on that at least. I do understand the logic from both sides and work with families on both sides of the fence and the ones straddling the damn thing just trying to do what they think is best.
