I know that their are many journeys to parenthood and not all of them are easy. I was talking to a co-worker today about his adoption journeys (4 adopted then one surprise bio when he and his wife were 40). He was telling me about the difficulties, the invasion of privacy, the emotional roller coaster, etc that went along with his adoptions. Each one has an amazing story and he is such a great dad. At the end he said, "just be glad you didn't have to go through any of that for your kids." Uh-huh. I just smiled and walked away. I know what it took and I will forever be grateful. I guess that's all that matters.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like folks only know half the story now that I'm sharing about the pregnancy, butcwe are keeping our Ivf private. It's a little bit hard sometimes.

Yeah, sometimes people can only see their hardships in their own situation. It's like they have blinders on and can't consider hardships of others. I personally don't think it means they can't sympathize, just that they are focused on how hard their journey was/is.
