Sibling name ideas to go with Enzo....help

Hi Everyone

I am looking for some cool ideas for sibling names to go with my 4 year old son who is named Enzo. Boy or girl ideas would be appreciated. For a girl the middle name will be Jill after my late mother who passed 3 years ago for a boy I am totally opened. Also I have a ridiculously long last name so short and sweet please :) I obviously like unique given my sons name but just have no idea where to start this time around.

Thanks!!

  • Honestly, I don't get why sibling names need to "go" together. Just pick a name you like.
    This.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

You can submit a question or search her archives? It's a fun blog!

    A

    2010: son born 9/1

    2013: 2 miscarriages + d&cs, both at 10 weeks: April & July

    2014: son #2 born 6/29

2016: Baby girl stillborn at 21w6d 4/29 and baby boy stillborn at 20w 3d 11/16

  • While I don't think sibling names have to "go together" exactly, I get wanting them to mesh to a certain degree.  Like I'd want to avoid rhyming Dan, Jan, Suzanne, and Bran or something.  And I wouldn't want to have a lot of trendy names and then one classic name.  (Not that it's wrong, I'd personally just prefer not to.)  Overall I agree with just picking a name you like.

OP, I'm not sure that I have any good suggestions but you should try lurking on the Baby Names board.  GL!

  • I would look at a list of Italian names. Enzo is usually short for Lorenzo or Vincenzo, so another Italian name might go nicely with it.

I kind of wish I never asked, felt awkward asking in the first place. Now I just feel dumb.

Don't worry about how they sound IS an idea.  Feel judged all you want.  But if you post a thread, people will comment.

Yes I am sensitive. I am 8 weeks pregnant, sick and emotional. Maybe it was okay advice but not very nice and not what my question was asking. Thanks for your input I guess but name calling isn't needed.

  • I think @MollySm had good advice about looking at Italian names.

I think names should "go together." When I was a kid there was a family who had a whole bunch of kids with fairly traditional names and one named Orabelle. I just thought it was so odd because it really stuck out from the other names.

Try not to take everything so personally, it's easier said than done. It's a public internet forum, full of lots of different opinions.

edit to add- I love both of those names but they really don't go well with our last name or I would totally be using them.
I love Willa! haven't heard that one - thanks

I just asked my DH how he felt about Willa:) It's a no-go I guess.

OP, I don't have any suggestions, but I understand wanting names to go together. And I think people are actually being quite polite considering the fact that it's such a unique name. If you're going to post on the Baby Names board, be prepared that people are at least 10x more brutal.

  • I get why you want them to go, it would be weird to have a tinsleigh, maxxon and Elizabeth.
Italian or nickname as a name is a good idea.
  • How about something that matches in syllables ? Like... Enzo and Emmy (just an example) or Amber or Luna
Beatrice- bfp September 16 2013, born February 1 2014 died later same day.

  • What other names did you like when you chose Enzo? I feel that a lot of times people like a particular style of names an so maybe one of the ones you considered for your son would be an option.

With that being said, saying "I'm hormonal" as an excuse makes everyone think pregnant women are crazy. Don't feed into that.

Uh-oh @AliSueBell. This is not considered "advice" here.
    :)
  • I love the name/nickname "Enzo".  It was my ex-BF's brother's name, though, so I could never use it.

OP, is your last name Italian?

What about Lucca?  I love that name as well.

Sadly, all of the Italian names I love just don't mesh with our very Finnish last name.

  • I think Olivia is a great suggestion! That's the one that jumped out at me... It could be that I reaaaally want to use that name, though. It's just too stinking close to my DDs name, Alyssa, and I agree that that matters to some degree.

  • Ezra would be cute for either boy or girl and would go with Enzo :)
  • My siblings are Liz, Dave and Rob.  I'm Letitia (Letty).  As the odd one out, I get the wanting them to go together thing, but I also agree that you should pick names you like.  If you like the next name as much as you like Enzo, they'll go together for you because you picked them both out and you love them both.  You've, luckily, got lots and lots of time.  Go to babynamewizard and have fun with their map thingy (you type in a name and it tells you how popular it was over the last hundred years, it's awesome).

Get a grip. We are all (well, almost all) pregnant. That's not an excuse for acting like a toddler just because you will soon have one. And none of the comments were "not nice."

And if "Sally Sensitive" is your idea of "name calling" ... well, you must have had a very sheltered life up to now.

I certainly have not had a sheltered life but thanks for your input. I've moved on and have received lots of helpful ideas and tips for finding names. Take care.

  • (This is CDD's wife, he stayed logged in so I'm hi-jacking :) I'm also due in June, on the 14th.) Anyway, how about Kira/Keira or Tyne or Lydia? I also like Lucca for a boy, maybe Lane-ehhh? I'm not sure how I feel about Lane, maybe not.
