Thoughts on the name Elena?

We are having a baby girl in February and our front-runner right now is Elena.  Thoughts?  Middle name will be Lois after my late MIL.  Our last name is Italian, 4 syllables, starts with R.  Our 2-yo son is James (goes by Jimmy).  Our other option is Sophia, but the popularity of it makes me not want to use it.

I love Elena. I would use it for a future daughter, but H doesn't like it.

I like Elena Lois. I think it flows really well together and it's a pretty name.

@Nechie122 we would pronounce it El-ain-ah. 

 

@mjreilly2 we wouldn't use the nickname Ellie.  If anything, it would be Lainey.

I too love Elena and it is on our short list. I think Elena Lois flows well together.

As far as nicknames go I wouldn't have thought of using Ellie, Elle, etc. I like the name on its own as it is
