I believe this has been discussed before but I can't find anything about it.

With the upcoming holidays my DH and I are in the market for a DSLR. My dad is taking classes in the new year so I am thinking I will join him.

Now, what camera to buy? Does anyone have suggestions?

Right now I am researching Canon Rebel T3i

DH and I just bought a Canon Rebel T4i last week as our christmas gift. So far (still very new and haven't tried a lot) we love it!! Our research said there was a substantial leap in features/corrections between the 3 and 4, but not much new in the 5.
