October 2011 Moms

*~*Woodsie*~*

Just thought I'd check in and see if you've had that beautiful baby boy #2 yet or if he is still baking away. I remember that you were due in November, but not quite sure when. I hope everything is going well! Wishing you lots of luck and happiness for your new family of 4! :)

  • I'm glad Dane is healthy and that T is adjusting well to being a big brother! DS1 was and still is pretty unphased by his brother's arrival into our lives. He's always been really independent though, which is a blessing when I'm trying to tend to the baby.

Things here are going. DS2 has been a lot more challenging than his older brother. He was a very gassy baby, and had a lot of trouble handling that gas, so we put him on probiotic drops and they were a lifesaver! He was also diagnosed with silent reflux, so once we got him on meds for that, he was a completely different baby. We were just really starting to hit our stride and this week the 3 month growth spurt and his 3rd wonder week leap have hit at the same time. I think we're coming out on the other side of it though, so here's hoping things get a little easier in the next week or so.

Overall though, even with the challenges, I am so thrilled with our family of 4! I love seeing the boys interact and can't wait until they can start playing together. We've definitely decided that we're 2 and through though! I'm really looking forward to the next chapter in our lives with our boys.

I hope things continue to go well with your family and that you have a wonderful holiday season with your boys down south! :)

  • The drops aren't prescription. I got them at Shoppers Drug Mart. They need to stay refrigerated, so I had to ask the pharmacist for them, but they were a life saver. The brand is Bio Gaia. They're expensive, but I noticed a big difference with their ability to help DS. I ran out recently and have waited a couple days to see how he handles everything without them, and he is definitely straining more to pass gas than he did before. I will be picking up more the next time I'm at shoppers.

I will keep thinking on the FB group. I'd really love to keep up with all the Oct 11 moms, but I'm still a little leery on the privacy aspect. I'm kind of a worry wart that way. :)
