When does MS end???

Hi Moms!!  I am 13 weeks pregnant with twins and have had absolutely horrible morning sickness since week 6.  Is there a light at the end of the tunnel??  I was not nearly this sick with my son and felt so much better by now.  Does the sickness last longer since there are two??  When did you start feeling good again??

Re: When does MS end???

  • Like PP said, everyone is different. I know I read the books saying it should go away after the first trimester, and was sorely disappointed when it stuck around. Mine started around when yours did at 6 weeks, and lasted through about 16 weeks, and zofran didn't help at all. Its rough, hang in there!!! The end result is worth it. :)

  • Have you tried B6? I found it really helped. 25mg 3x a day consistently. With DD I was only sick from 6-9weeks, with this pregnancy I was sick from about 5-11 weeks. I am 13 weeks and the nausea is pretty much gone. Hoping yours will taper off soon!
  • like @amylou333, I was sick from 7wks to 20wks with throwing up multiple times a day...
eat what you can, when you can... drink a lot of water. I say this and know how disgusting it sounds.. but it's much easier to throw things up when there's water in your system, than when there's not. Less 'chunk'! ;)

Hope it doesn't last much longer for your sake!!

  • Be prepared for it to last... I threw up every single day of my entire 34 weeks
  • For me I got sick at 3 weeks, that's how I knew I was pregnant. I had constant nausea and occasional vomiting until about 10 weeks. I have been fine and eating everything in sight since then. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back.

@tiffwedd, oh lawd, that is awful. by 20 weeks i would cry bc my belly was big and it hurt so much to hang my head over the toilet. I hope you had children who ate and slept through the night from day 1! you're a saint!

  • Lol!  Yes it was and a huge part of why we won't be having anymore... but, I will say that I am truly blessed with 2 very good babies and I wouldn't change a thing about it because I got two beautiful healthy babies at the end of it.
