First date

Tonight DH and I are going to our friends' wedding, sans kiddo. It'll be our first time out together without DS. My mom is watching him. Even though I have no real reason to be, I'm nervous he will get upset, my mom won't be able to figure it out, and she'll get stressed. So, what was your first date or outing with your SO without your kid(s)? Any tips on how to relax and enjoy myself? Besides having a few drinks, which I will be doing OBVIOUSLY.

I don't have any advice, but you should know I'm very, very jealous. I haven't had any "adult" time since LO was born.

I have 3 kids. Ain't no body want to babysit that many. So MH and I don't ever go out without the kids. Boo.

Tip for relaxing. Your Mom raised you and you survived, so I am sure she will know how to care for LO.

Tip for relaxing- have your mom send you pics of lo so you know he's doing ok! I check in when I am out. Also, remember it is important to focus on your relationship with SO as much as it is with LO. Have fun!!

This! We went to dinner and a movie, and I was so nervous but it wasn't as bad as I thought! Just make sure to leave directions with your mom and try to relax! have fun!

We went and had sushi and wine. It was great. Try and enjoy yourself OP. Remember, you will be back with your LO in no time

Our first date out was our anniversary, LO was only 4 weeks old so it was tough for me. We went out to dinner practically next door to where we live and my parents watched her. I wasn't so much worried as I missed her.

You could ask your mom to send you little photo updates of what they're doing so you know all is well. And don't worry too much, I'm sure she can confidently handle a fussy LO if it were to come to that.

Yay! Enjoy! My DH and I spent the night away from LO while my Grandma and Mom watched her. We were in town, went to dinner and drinks, and got a hotel room. I would just take deep breaths when you get nervous or miss LO.... this isn't your Mom's first time taking care of a baby and I am sure she will do fine.

Enjoy! We have only been to a movie once for our anniversary. Big tip is to check in via text if you can. That way if LO is crying it won't spoil your time. It's a lot less stressful. Good luck and enjoy!

Your mom raised you and you're here.. if the baby cries, I'm sure she can handle it. Just relax and enjoy your time! Soon enough you'll be home again and wishing you'd enjoyed the time more.. Ya know??

When LO was just over 2 months my dad watched him so we could go out to dinner for our anniversary. Everything went well and dad sent us a pic of a happy LO during dinner.

Not that anyone was on the edge of their seats, but everything was indeed fine. We had a blast and LO was good as gold for his grandma. Only hiccup was that they had so much fun playing togetger that mom couldn't get him to bed on time. I'll take it! As @mgg242 said and as shown, happy mommy and daddy is a happy baby! Those of you who are nervous to go out, I highly recommend it.
