Date night

Have you had one yet? Where did you go/what did you do?
If you bf, how did you handle the pumping? Skip it?

We have been thinking of trying for a date night to do dinner and a movie but since LO generally eats every hour before her bedtime I'm not sure how to handle that. Will skipping three feedings screw up my supply? Do I bring my pump with? Gah I want some alone time with my husband!

One night shouldn't affect your supply. I usually try to leave after Ty has gone to sleep or as he is going to sleep (he goes to bed at 7).

I'm usually home before he wakes up again, so I just feed him again. Pretty sweet gig for the babysitter

We had a wedding to attend... I fed baby J right before walking out the door, pumped on the way to the wedding (got them really empty!), pumped a few hours in. I pumped in the posh restroom but was prepared to do it in the car. The wedding went from 6p-12a

Personally I don't know if skipping will mess up your supply. I'd love to say it wouldn't! Per my LC it's important to nurse/empty between 10p and 3a in order to keep up your supply. I have not tested this theory (moreso I've never not nursed/pumped during that time) but I've also never had any low supply issues.

You might be sore and full from missing three sessions too...

That is when I put LO to sleep too, although we have always gone to the sitters house but they're 30 min away. Gah!

One night won't impact supply. Technically we've had 2 but one was a party at my parents and the second was dinner out and we coincidentally ran into my sister and her bf so we had dinner with them. The first one I pumped as soonas I got home bc I was super uuncomfortable. The second time we weren't gone that long and she's STILL wakeful so she was up and ate before I got uncomfortable.

We've been out once, I think lol  That was when we were visiting my ILs so they watched them.  We're mega lame and are only gone as long as dinner locally takes us so I never want to bother with a babysitter for only a couple hours.  My brother was our go-to person when we just had one but I've been nervous about asking him to stay with two kids because he doesn't really "do" babies lol  I think we're going to do an evening of Christmas shopping soon because we'll be really close by and can bail and head home if he gets overwhelmed

That's reassuring! I definitely see a movie night in our future haha

My mom drives up from Houston every three weeks to stay with Beckett for a Mon/Tues. On those Sunday nights DH and I go out for dinner, usually after B goes to sleep.

Of course sometimes B picks those nights to have a major bedtime meltdown. My mom has convinced us to let her handle him and go out anyways (she doesn't have to twist my arm). I haven't seen any issue with supply. I sometimes pump and dump when I get home though. I think some alone time with your husband is a great thing!
