Out & About - how & gear?

Hi. We have a 22 month old and a 1 month old and I'm still trying to find the best combo of gear for getting out & about. So, what do you find works best for you?

What I have tried:
Toddler in Ergo on back, newborn carried in arms

Newborn in Ergo, toddler walking

Newborn in car seat/SnapNGo, toddler walking

Haven't tried toddler in stroller because she likes to walk often and if she does, I would be pushing an empty stroller.
Thought about adding second carrier/sling/wrap for newborn with toddler in Ergo on back, but it was a short trip and I'm scared of being trapped/tangled in carriers if toddler wants off my back.

Pros for Snap&Go: place to "put" newborn and cup holders and storage for stuff. Cons: when she needs to be fed, I'm pushing an empty stroller and chasing a toddler while feeding.

What do you recommend?

Depends on where I am going. Storytime- I let toddler walk and baby in the ergo. Target/grocery store- baby in ergo and toddler in shopping cart. Mall- both kids in stroller. Zoo/aquarium - both in stroller but I do not buckle Toddler in so she can get in and out as she pleases.

I never just carry the baby in case I need free hands to grab/chase my toddler.
