ER - fail

Today the RE went in for ER and the eggs were gone. GONE - like someone stole them in the night. He said that the follicles were indicative of post ovulation. That was even more disappointing than him saying there were no eggs at all.

All that work.

All that pain.

All that expense.

So we did an IUI anyway and now we wait 2 weeks. Hopefully, it all happens on the right because my left tube is blocked. How likely is it for you to conceive when insemination happens AFTER ovulation?

OMG! This is my biggest fear! This is what I worry about every single day! I am so so so sorry. How many follies did you have? It seems crazy that they would even do an IUI with multiple follies, what if you do end up pregnant, with like 9 babies?! Girl, I will be thinking of you! Sending you tons of thoughts and prayers, I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. This is totally devastating

I'm so sorry! IF is so unfair and such an emotional roller coaster. Did they say why this happened? Why the ganirelex failed? FX for a BFP in 2 weeks.

I had a total of 5 follicles on Tuesday. The 3 most mature were 15, 20, 24.

I was so out of it after the anesthesia I don't really remember a lot. I didn't ask why the ganirelix didn't work - I'll put it on my list. He said that it is unusual to ovulate before RE. But from what he saw, it probably had just happened and that is why he suggested the IUI. The night before I had some stabbing pain around 9-10 pm so it may have happened then.

Mrs Castillo If I get pregnant with 9 babies, I think I know a few ladies. That was funny and necessary.

But everyone is right - I'm frustrated and DEVASTATED!!!! And now I have all this bloating and cramping from the IVF procedure.

All I have now is faith and prayer. Thanks everyone!

Awww! 5 babies is totally doable, right? I mean 5 is better than 9 at once

Not all hope is gone. I'm so sorry for your frustration, though. A friend of mine had to have her IUI after O'ing because they wanted the eggs sitting there waiting for the swimmers. It can still happen!
