sunglasses

Sorry to be a PW...

I was told by my doctor today I shouldn't wear contacts anymore. Like, ever. :( So, I am looking at prescription sunglasses. The ones in the store were too much $$. I looked at coastal contacts, but wasn't sure if anyone else had a good website or something to go to.

Thanks!

Re: sunglasses

  • Walmart is pretty cheap u can pick a frame and then add the lenses and they have all different prices and take most insurances since they sometimes cover it.

  • Not sure if they do it or not but vision works often offers 2 for 99 dollars special. You get 2 pairs of glasses for 99. I am notorious for losing my glasses so they are a cheap option. I don't know if sunglasses are included and if there isn't one in your area I'm not sure they have online.

Can places add lenses in ANY sunglass frame I have? Like if I already own a cheap pair of regular sunglasses, can a place add prescription lenses in them?

Not always ... If they can cut their lenses in house versus sending them out then you might be able to swing it. At walmart probably not because I believe all of their locations send to a lab for the majority of their prescriptions.

Also ... I immediately started singing this in my head. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X2LTL8KgKv8&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DX2LTL8KgKv8

  • I have bought nice sunglasses before and then just taken them to an eye glass store and had them do my prescription in them. They have to have the machine that traces the shape of the lenses if it isn't a frame they carry. So just ask. Walmart did it for me the cheapest.

  • Buy them at eyebuydirect.com!! You can get any rx glasses for $7, even sunglasses (for I think $2 extra). I never pay full price for name brand- these are just as good. You can't try them on, but they are so cheap you can replace them easily if you don't like them.
