WWS12 do re:fever

Do you bring your S12 baby to the pedis every time they spike a fever?  We have had so much sickness in the last 6 weeks or so... Hand foot and mouth disease, fever, sinusitis, another fever... Her current fever hasn't gotten higher than 102.9, but it's hanging on a couple days so I probably need to take her in again.  I don't know what to think of it- I figure it's probably a virus since there are no other discernible symptoms other than not wanting to eat much.

Ugh I just want her to feel better and actually stay that way!  I can't believe she never got sick her first year, and since her birthday it has been non-stop, but I guess that's what happens when she can toddle around and put everything in her mouth...

  • Ugh I'm sorry. It does seem to come in waves and last for months :( I would at least call. I hope she feels better soon!

  • Cowbell.

    And more cowbell.

If that doesn't work, and it's lingering and especially if it isn't responding to meds, yeah, I'd call the doc.

  • Agree with pps. Definitely call. And I hope she feels better soon, poor baby.

  • I only worry when it doesn't respond to meds or lasts for more than 3 days. Or if he isn't eating/drinking. Leo is on day 2 of a high fever (102+) but it goes down after giving advil, he is eating normally so I'm not worried, and is pretty much acting himself just a bit more clingy. We do have an appt to get his second flu shot tomorrow which he will not be able to get but if he wakes up with a fever in the morning, I will keep the appt to see the doctor.

  • Ok, I'll make an appointment for her tomorrow.  It does go down with ibuprofin, but goes back up again as soon as the meds wear off, and tomorrow is day 4 :(

I've been wanting to get her in for her flu shot since her 12 month appt (they didn't have it in yet in Sept), but she hasn't been well long enough to get it.  Thanks for the advice!
  • I take them in if the fever doesn't go away after a few days.
