January 2014 Moms

So, apparently I'm nesting...

Last night, DH went to the grocery store. While he was gone, I got our bills situated and check ready for him to sign (usually he does most of it, long story why I can't sign the checks). He came back, I was picking up in the living room. He didn't say anything.

We talked about the bills some, put them in envelopes and to the outgoing mail pile. I put in a movie and started folding clothes. He looked at me funny. I kept folding clothes, throwing out trash, putting away toys...after an hour he finally said something.

DH: Um, what's going on?
Me: I can't take it any more, feeling like a beached whale and being useless and this house is a MESS!!!!

He was quiet and eventually fell asleep on the couch. That was bothering me so I tried sending him up to bed, but he wouldn't go without me. I finally quit at midnight, and he asked if I was just pretending to go to bed so I could nest some more. (I actually went to sleep)

We'll see what happens tonight :P

  • You need to pass some of that nesting my way. I'm glad you got so much stuff done!

The reason MH was so confused is because moving too much or too long hurts. I also can't just stand, and I get stuck on the floor. So what was I doing? Standing, moving, and getting stuck on the floor, lol!

I'd pass some along if I could!

  • I'm the complete opposite and am lazy. Don't get me wrong there's tons of stuff I want to do and keep a running list in my head, but I get easily exhausted that momentum is gone. I'd be happy to have some of your energy!

  • Yup, I've got my lazy pants on as well.  I do the bare minimums.  Clean up toys, do laundry, do dishes, make dinner, feed dogs.  That's about it.  If I could sit all day every day and do absolutely nothing, that's exactly what I'd do.  I hate feeling like this and I know it'll pass soon, I just hate moving right now.  I especially hate having to get up off the couch!!

  • I normally don't have this energy, or desire to get up. DH has been wonderful, and done most of the housework and taking care of the kids.

Last night was weird, though, I just HAD to do things and I was getting upset about it. Maybe that's the key, everyone- turn into Pregnant Mrs Hulk ;)

Love it!  I've been feeling the exact same way. I can't wait to get home and clean every night, and once I physically run out of steam, I mentally keep going until I crash! I've been "work nesting" too, if that's a real thing. I think I'm paranoid about going into sudden labor, but I can't leave work until my desk is perfect. Yikes, I don't know if anyone around me can handle 8 more weeks of this!

@jamiecal - OMG, I just realized I did the same thing at work, too! I had 2 hours left before going home and no work, so my desk got nice and pretty :)

ETA: Although, I can totally wait to get home- the 3 Musketeer Monsters are there :-O

  • @jamiecal- I've been work nesting too!! It's a little much but I can't help it.

At home is a different story. Hoping the nesting hulk inside of me appears before it's too late!

  • I don't nest, or didn't think I did... With any pregnancy. And this is my 4th. Yet, yesterday I steamed cleaned my carpets, the upholstery on the furniture and our dining room chair cushions. (I'm paying for it severely today) but the NEED to do it was unreal.
Since I can barely move today, lazy non nesting is present today!
