Lo naps 3 times a day. One mini nap about an hour or hour and a half after he gets up for the day (around 8:30am), that one he does in my arms/on my boob. The second is around 10:40-11am and is now in his crib, the third is 1-2ish in his crib. If we are out and about he will nap in the car or ergo. This is the schedule he's set for himself and is flexible depending on what we are up to :) he naps longer if I'm wearing him, our crib naps only last about an hour. (FYI- he gets 12hrs at night to sleep)

    Eta- no we don't swaddle.

  • Sure I'll play. This is my ideal day, but usually at least one nap is messed up. DD is 5 months today.
    1. 2 hours
    2. Usually about 1.5 hours, sometimes 45 min
    3. 2 longer naps then sometimes a short nap in the evening
    4. Crib if we are home. She can also nap in the stroller, car, or carrier, but her naps will be shorter
    5. Yes we still swaddle, I do t have the energy to mess with naps.

You might want to ETA asking for age.

  • 1. It can range from 2-5 hours.
    2. He naps for an hour in the morning and then 2 in the afternoon.
    3. He naps 2 times a day.
    4. He naps in his crib.
    5. Joseph never cared for swaddling, so we never bothered. (He hated it).

  • 1. It all depends. If he is home with me, he is typically awake about 1.5 hours between naps as long as it is a day he is not nap-fighting.  At daycare, though, he will often go 3-3.5 hours between naps.
    2. At home, about 30-60 minutes if he not being held/watched closely.  If he is being held or watched closely and starts to stir, I can often get the pacifier back in his mouth and he will go back to sleep.  When that happens, I can sometimes get 1.5-2 hours out of him.  At daycare, he typically naps 45-60 minutes in the morning and 1.5-2 hours in the afternoon.
    3. Twice at daycare, it varies at home
    4. In his Rock and Play at home, in a crib at daycare
    5. No, stopped overnight about two months ago. We never did for naps anyway.
  • My answers are different for daycare days, and at home in the weekends, he doesn't nap as well for me:

On daycare days he naps 8:30-9:15, and then again at 12:30-3:15 (more or less). Sometimes he'll sleep for a few mins again in the evening, but not more than 30 mins. On the weekends he seems to take much shorter naps. At daycare he naps in his crib, but for us he just naps wherever - sometimes in crib, sometimes in car seat or ergo if we are out, or on us/the couch. We no longer swaddle.

LO is 4.5 months, and usually sleeps 10 hours at night (8:30-6:30).
  • I'm jealous of all you long nappers!
    1. 1.5-2 hours.
    2. 10 minutes. If I let her sleep on me it could be 30 minutes. Generally as soon as I lay her down she's up again so I try to hold her or put her in swing.
    3. 3-5 if I'm with her and rock her etc.
    4. On me or in crib, or in swing.
    5. No swaddling
  • 1. How long is LO awake btwn naps?
    Usually a few hours
    2. About how long does each nap last?
30 min is about average. Sometimes she'll actually go an hour or more but not very often anymore.
    3. How many times per day does LO nap?
    Twice if we're lucky.
    4. Where is LO napping?
She falls asleep on me usually, then I try to transition her to the bouncy chair. Sometimes that wakes her back up.
    5. Are you still swaddling?
    Nope.
  • To lazy to go in order: LO wakes at 7am his first nap at 10am in swing for 1-2 hours. Second nap is around 3pm this one I hold him or he won't stay asleep long. It's usually 2 hours so he wakes up around 5pm and stays up till bed time which is 7:45 all set by him. If he happens to take a really short morning nap there might be 3 shorter naps instead of two longer ones. We go with the flow! I want to start getting him to nap in his crib but it hasn't happened yet.

    1. How long is LO awake btwn naps? Doesn't normally last any longer than two hours.

    2. About how long does each nap last? Varies. Three of his naps are along the lines of 45 minutes, but his best nap (generally mid day/early afternoon) can be as long as three hours at daycare, but it's generally shorter at home.

    3. How many times per day does LO nap? 3 or 4 - 4 during daycare days if we're lucky, and three most of the time.

    4. Where is LO napping? In his crib at daycare, and at home it varies between his swing, PnP, and on me depending on my mood and his. (Or the carseat or Ergo - he's pretty flexible as long as he's not overtired)

    5. Are you still swaddling? Never really did this.

  • Thanks ladies! After seeing your responses I'm right there with most of you. LO is up for 1.5-2 hours, sleeps about 45-60 min in crib about 4x a day! And sleeps 7p-6a with usually one or two wake ups to eat.

  • This is her daycare schedule, and we try to do the same at home on weekends. She usually sleeps from 10-11 am, then 1-3 pm. Sometimes she'll also snooze on the way to and from daycare, or take another quick (>30 min) nap in the evening.

    1. How long is LO awake btwn naps? anywhere from 2-4 hours
    2. About how long does each nap last? am nap is 1 hour, afternoon nap is 2 hours (give or take)
    3. How many times per day does LO nap? usually 2
    4. Where is LO napping? her crib primarily

  • Mine is up at 7am, first nap around 8:30, up by 9:30... second nap around 11-12, which is short, like half an hr... 3rd nap around 2pm for an hour or hour and a half, fourth nap around 5pm for half an hour, bed by 8-9pm. So she is awake about 2-3 hrs between naps. She naps on my boob but sleeps in her crib at night about 10hrs. No swaddling since about 3 months old. She's 5 and a half months now.
