I need to get back into reading. I miss getting lost in a good book. Especially with winter coming, time to snuggle up with a warm drink and good book, of that's still possible.
I love to read! I recently finished a Sherlock Holmes/Jack the Ripper novel whose name I cannot recall at the moment. It's hard for me to read for fun during the school year sometimes, though, since I teach English and have to do a lot of reading for work. I'd be on board with a book club, though.
Haven't found time for reading since LO but this may help me get back into the swing of things. Zarkoe-I'm a Lisa Scottoline fan. I'll have to check out Save Me.
I'm in! I vowed to cut way down on my daytime TV during my maternity leave and the result has been that I read on my kindle while I breastfeed. Works great. I've done 14 books (some of them are easy reads... I have my guilty pleasures) since I started. Next on my reading list is a delightful series I found by Nancy Springer- the Enola Holmes mysteries. They are the sister of sherlock holmes and she's into mystery solving. I also found a great one this morning called The Kitchen House by Kathleem Grissom that I'm looking forward to starting- that would be a great book club book. I've been searching for inspiration on goodreads.com Its hard to find new books you want to read sometimes! do a lot of crimesolver fluff books like Janet Evanovich and Victoria Laurie.
I'd love to join in! I'll keep an eye out for what is decided! I'm open to whatever, but the Lauren graham book has been on my list and I saw it was mentioned (it's going to be turned into a movie I think or a tv series, I'd like to get the book read before that happens :P) but I am open
I wanna play, On my reading list is the giver series, I only read the first one a long time ago. Also I just looked at the kindle best seller list and the book thief and stcamore row look good to me
Any ideas how it should work? I've never done one online. Like 2 chapters a week and discuss? Or be like a real book club and just drink wine and talk about anything else besides the book?
Anyone one else have suggestions? Once we have a few suggestions we can create a poll and vote on a book.
How long does everyone need to read a book? 2 weeks? More?
With working and such I'd say a month? Maybe I'm on the slow end...
Agreed! I haven't so much as picked up a book since LO. But before I was into silly quick read chick books. I wouldn't mind something a little different.
Eta: not true. I read Llama Llama and Dr Seuss on the regular. Book club worthy?
Re: What happened to the book club
BTW Sol- I just finished Allegiant. I was surprised, I thought it was good! Not sure why so many people said it was bad.
