Recommend fave herbal tea

Hey tea drinkers. I'm a coffee lover who must give up coffee for a while. I have acid reflux issues. Doctor scoped me yesterday and recommended a bunch of dietary changes and a new medicine to see if it helps.

That being said I need to give up caffeine as it can be a trigger. So I need some herbal tea recommendations.

Can any tea lovers recommend something good that can replace my morning cup of joe?

I have a few favorite herbal teas but none of them would really work to replace tea right away for me.  My favorites right now are Throat Coat by Traditional Medicinals (I love the taste even when I don't have a sore throat), and Honey Lemon Ginseng by Celestial Seasonings (add some sugar and it is a little like lemonade).

This may sound weird, but when I had to give up coffee for a while I first started out with hot chocolate because mentally it seemed more like coffee.  Then I was able to switch to tea after a bit.
Thanks! No hot chocolate :( no chocolate at all because of the caffeine. I have tried throat coat and like it. I'll take a look at the celestial seasonings one too.

I like jasmine (any brand) and tazo makes one called redbush that I drink a lot. Tazo has a bunch of good caffeine- free ones that I like.

  • Thanks, Laura! I will be sure to read all the labels.

Fruit juice based teas are probably a no go anyway because of the acidity. I'm gonna see what I can snag tomorrow.

    Thanks everyone!

Try chai tea. I'm a huge coffee drinker, like excessive, and when I cut back, this is my go to. I find a lot of herbal tea's give me a headache from the perfume aroma, and this one seems to do the trick. Not too over powering

ETA...missed the caffeine part, and my suggestion is certainly loaded, so disregard. Nabob makes a really good decaffeinated coffee for the tassimo
  • Thanks again ladies! I wish chai was caffeine free! I could do that. It's so yummy! I do like decaf coffee, but doctor said if I could cut coffee entirely it would be best.

  • Anything by Celestial Seasonings is good. I used to love the bedtime tea (I think there is a bear pictured on the front of the package, don't know if they still make it though).
  • I had a white licorice tea that was amazing- can't remember the brand
