My kid hates the bath

Any suggestions? He screams and tries to crawl out the entire time. This happened out of the blue about 4 days ago. A girl at my work suggested bath crayons. He has toys and I have tried bubbles.

Re: My kid hates the bath

  • I'm not sure how old your DS is but my younger DD went though a phase like this around 9 months. I didn't really change anything, just made baths quick and eventually she got over it. Disclaimer: I don't give my kids a lot of baths because in lazy.

  • The Crayola tablets that change the water color helped us.  At Target, at least, they are in the adult body wash section.
  • I'm with mbenit. DS went through this and then went through it again when we started putting him in the shower with us. Honestly, I just ignored him and washed as fast as possible. He loves the shower now!

  • Mine started that at just a little older. There are times I have bathed him while he stands in the water and screams the whole time.

This. We went through that phase and I just kept bathing him until he got over it.

  • Mine too and she's 2. I think it's because she knows that after tubby time bedtime follows shortly after.
  • We got the color changing bath tablets, bath markers, and bubbles. It took a lot of coaxing but he did finally sit down and take a bath. We will see how tonight goes! Thanks for the tips ladies :)
  • i stock up on glow sticks from the dollar bins at target and once in awhile i let the kids have "disco bathtime".  i throw some glow sticks in the bath, turn down the lights and bring in the ipod for music.
