I feel like I got kicked in the balls

Well, if I had ever experienced A) having balls & B) getting kicked in said balls, I would imagine it feels something like this crazy vag pain that makes me have to hunch over, only alleviated if I sit down.

DH thinks that I need to go to the doctor. I do not. I told him I googled and it seems like a normal symptom of stretching and whatnot. But that is how he is - "gotta go in!" for everything. Whereas I say "Am I dying?" if no, I'm good. I have an appointment Friday anyway so I figure I can bring it up then.

I think he really just wants me to stop complaining about my achey breaky vag.

So tell me.... anyone feel like they've taken a shot to the crotch lately?

Re: I feel like I got kicked in the balls

  • Hm. I've had round ligament pain--stretchy, achy feeling in my lower abdomen--but nothing in my vagina.

I'm the same way: I never go to the doc unless it's life or death. The first time I saw/heard my little guy's heartbeat, though, something changed and if I feel something is "off" or could potentially be harmful for the baby, I will call the nurse and get her/his take.

Maybe make your H feel better (and who knows, maybe you too if they can recommend something to alleviate the pain) and call your OB office. Talk to the nurse and let her/him know what's up.

    Best of luck!

  • You need to be careful, you might be having syphisis pubis dysfunction. It's no joke.

  • I have had a couple of those pains recently! I get what feels like someone jabbing something somewhat sharp very quickly and abruptly into the walls of my vagina.

Not in my pubic bone area or near the uterus but IN my vagina.

It's  super quick and it usually solicits an audibile "yow!!" from me and then it's gone.

    It's lovely.

  • Me too. It almost feels like the baby is kicking my cervix. But the baby is so little at this point (13 weeks) I'd be surprised if that's really what it is. I did a quick google search and nothing alarmed me so I am just making a mental note to talk to my CNM on the 20th.

  • I've had the same feeling as @jfletcher3113 a couple times, but it doesn't last more than a couple seconds or so at a time.

My husband and I are the same as you and yours...it's so annoying. One day I had an achy jaw (I grind the fluck out of my teeth at night, nothing new) and he was like TAKE OUT ALL THE WISDOM TEETH!

    Chill dudes, chill

  • I have had some pains low in the uterus that feel like they are coming out of the vagina and someone told me they are ligament pains. You described them as being kicked in the balls and when I think of that I think really uncomfortable pain. mine aren't painful. They are sharp and almost like electricity. Weird, but best way to describe it. They are mild and so quick that I can't even consider it pain.
  • Sometimes I get these sharp shooting pains up in my vagina. Like, I mean UP there. Happens mostly at night after I've been on my feet all day. But I imagine it might be similar to what you are feeling. I asked my OB when we were there last week he said it was totally normal. Not fun though!

This is exactly what I was thinking - and yeah, the term is pretty fitting, eh? :)

  • Wow, I had no idea there was something called lightning crotch! Yowza!

My crotch pains sound a little more like OP's, but not nearly as painful. Once in a while my crotch (cervix mostly) feels kind of heavy, swollen, and bruised. It's definitely a dull, achy feeling, not sharp and shooting. But I am having those in my abdomen (RLP I was told). Anyway, the pain hasn't been even close to bad enough to worry and see the doc. Also, since I had heard crotch pain mentioned before, I figured it was normal. I hope you find some relief soon!
  • I got that with my DS but much farther along I believe. I would mention it to OB but probably normal.

I've been worried about this but thought maybe it's too early still?

Might be, I'm not sure. I wanted to mention it because I had a symphysis pubis separation during delivery with DS. It's really painful (even 2 1/2 years later) so I wanted to throw it out there in case you hadn't heard of it...it is pretty rare. Sounds like the other girls have more accurately described this pain as lightening crotch, which I've never heard of. I learn something everyday. :)

  • Yep, I had lightening crotch with DD but not til later when it literally was her either kicking or pinching me down there. This time it started a couple days ago (I'm 12w with twins)... I notice it more when I'm on my feet a lot. It was bad yesterday, I think bc I ran a little. I would say it's more uncomfortable than really painful. Like pinching or sharp/quick "pains". Totally normal as far as I know. This early I think it's just stretching.
  • I have a hard time describing the feeling. It is definitely pain. It comes and goes but definitely last longer than a second.I would say it generally lasts 5-30 minutes.  And then there is residual soreness for a while. I don't think it sounds like this lightning crotch you're describing, which I never had with the last pregnancy. It definitely happens more on days when I'm extra active, but I have a job that includes lots of physical labor, so most days are pretty rigorous. I'm not sure what to think at this point. I'm not going to bother calling my MW because I have an appointment Friday anyway. We'll see what she says.

  • I think just mention the pain to your doctor. He/ she will tell you it's something or it's nothing. No need to look up everything that aches or you will worry yourself for no reason. You definitely should take it easy if it hurts that much though.

LOL I generally don't worry even if there is a reason. I looked it up more to appease DH. I wish I could take it easy. Unfortunately that's not an option in my life. Maybe someday.....
