Asking for a friend!

I have a friend that is due in May '14 and she is trying to decide on a girl name. Her DH is dead set on having Norma as either the first or middle name. The last name starts with S. She does not Norma Jean or Norma Katherine and thats the only two I can come up with for her. Help?

She wants to have a name picked by Christmas because her mother is getting a really nice bedding set that is personalized. And the second reason is that her DH will be out of the country for 2-3 months after the new year.

Thanks ladies! I'll pass al of these on to her. I like Norma Elizabeth or Norma Rae. Personally, I think her husband is crazy for insisting on Norma. His grandmother's name is Norma Katherine. I think they should use Katherine but he is insisting on Norma. But that's just my opinion... lol

If they have a boy they should rearrange the letters to Roman. I've always liked that name for a boy.

@jo27key I just texted her Norma Rose and she likes it! She said she likes the way Norma Leigh looks but when she said it out loud her DH said it sounded like Normally. lol

Ha I was going to put Norma Leigh as a joke but @jo27key beat me to it. I think the name is pretty terrible but I think Norma Mae is the best of the worst.

Out of those choices I like Katherine. Which, incidentally, would make a lovely first name. 

Also, I lol'd at "asking for a friend" because it made me think of someone holding drugs for a friend. "I swear the name isn't mine, officer! It's for a friend!"

I wouldn't do Norma Jean because that was Marilyn Monroe's real name. I like Norma Rose the best.

We believe in just using the initial of the person we are naming after.  Maybe suggest that.

Maybe your friend's husband would go for Nora or Norah instead of Norma? It sounds a little more current.
