Cloth Diapering

Used CD from Craigslist

Hi CDing mamas! I'm due with a boy at the end of January, and have decided to CD. After talking to several friends who CD, I've decided to go with the bumgenius 4.0. Earlier today I picked up a great deal of 16 used CD off of Craigslist to start my stash. They are all in good to excellent condition. Here is my question, because they are used, do you have any special recommendations on how-to prep them for my little guy? Should I just prep them as if they are new or follow the sellers old wash routine? Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Me personally, I'd strip them. Then wash the way i plan to.

  • Bleach them to strip anything that the prior bum may have left behind. You don't want to risk yeast, staph, or any other cooties being passed along. I wish I had know that instead of following the cloth diaper myths. I battled yeast for over a month with my newborn.
Than wash them however you'd like.
  • I always strip used dipes with bleach and blue dawn then sun them if there are any stains. I once bought a swaddlebees simplex with an EBF stain and it came right out.
