Re: The Best - GTKY

  • 1) best movie - Giant with Liz Taylor and James Dean

    2) book - Little Women, I could read it over and over again and pick it up even if I hadn't read a chapter in months. Also, if I feel like being scared the Strain trilogy by Guillermo del Toro.

    3) album- recently Macklemore. The whole album is great.

    4) gift- given- I found the old pattern for these crochet afghans that my Grandmother had at her house. Crocheted one for my parents and one for my sister at Christmas a few years back.

Received - a photo collage book that my Mom made if pictures of me growing up.

    5) this chicken. Seriously the best roasted chicken ever. I serve it with mash potatoes and pan juices and roasted carrots. https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/chicken-al-mattone

    1. Movie you've ever seen?  To many to list but the movie that can not turn off if it's on tv right now is back to the future.

    2. Book you've ever read?  This stems from my childhood, but I love the book "the giver" by Lois lawry.  I can't believe they're making a movie of it now (squeeee!)

    3. Album/song you've ever heard?  This depends on my mood.  I love jam band music like phish and listen to live shows when home, but am really into alternative rock music (Muse), but know every pop song and rap song form the 90's.  I'm just a music lover in general.  I haven't gotten into country music though.  It's not big up here in the NE.

    4. Gift you've ever received or given? In HS, my boyfriend made me a paper clip heart which I wore around my neck on a chain.  We were together for 4+ years and when we broke up when I was a college senior I received a Tiffany heart necklace from my mom.   She said it was about time I updated my jewelry from office supplies ;)

    5. Dish you've ever made? (Bonus points for including a recipe.). Google Martha Stewarts Italian pot pies.  You're welcome.

  • 1. Best movie- Oh sheesh that depends mostly on my mood. Tommy Boy will be on my favorites list forever. But, movies I watch whenever they're on.. Shawshank and Forrest Gump. Can't help myself.

    2. Book- hmm The Shack maybe. It was a hard book to read, but really good.

    3. Album- my Brand New cds have been on constant rotation lately.

    4. My grandma got me a sewing machine when I was 12, but I wasn't into it then. Now I am just starting to, but I'm thankful for it.

    5. I make a mean lasagna. Family recipe though, so no sharing ;)

  • 1. Agree with Forest Gump and Shawshank, always stop to watch if I catch them on.

    2. Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham is a favorite and To Kill a Mockingbird.

    3. The Beatles Revolver but also love the soundtrack to Once.

    4. A small gold pocketwatch that was a gift to a great, great grandmother from her children. It was engraved and I am named after her. My parents gave it to me when I graduated college.

    5. This salmon recipe with lemon and fennel is really easy and healthy but tastes amazing:

  • 1. Movie you've ever seen? Cloud Atlas. It's deep and thought provoking and beautifully done.

    2. Book you've ever read? World War Z. Didn't even have to think about it.

    3. Album/song you've ever heard? Anything Queen. Freddie Mercury was a musical genius.

    4. Gift you've ever received or given? Lily. She's a gift from God and H.

    5. Dish you've ever made? (Bonus points for including a recipe.)

H does the cooking. I can cook, he's just better.

  • 1. Movie would probably be Bourne identity. I love action and Matt Damon!
    2. I'll go with Stephen kings the dark tower series. I was so sad when it ended!
    3. I love seabounds confusion. For more mainstream hmmm perhaps lifehouse cling and clatter. I never tire of it!
    4. My husband bought me a heart shaped locket.
    5. If you ask DH it is my stuffed shells. Cook ground beef, add in a block of cream cheese, cinnamon, and a small bag of broccoli. Stuff cooked pasta shells, top w mozzarella cheese, cover, and bake until heated!
If you ask me it was when I made homemade pasta and added portabella mushrooms to the dough. Delicious!
I could go on and on, I love cooking!
