SLAP!

Anyone's baby get excited and slap? Mine is a slapper! NOT COOL. We take his hands and say no be nice and he does then but the slapping, my goodness. It is like he gets so excited he needs something to do with his hands lol That and grabbing gobs of my hair... it hurts and I am over it.

  • Mine is a pincher too. He especially loves you pinch my boobs while nursing. And he will roll his little fingernail into your skin while pinching until you would swear you were being stabbed with mini razors.

  • We have a slapper as well. He's really more of a flailer I guess but it's hard! Ouch!

  • Sophia loves to pinch my nipple when she is waking up, it hurts so bad!
  • Lmao babies. They do such funny things. Mines a flailer. He loves getting all crazy.

  • Yup, DD always starts out with a gentle, nice pat, but she gets excited and it escalates into full-on slapping. Yesterday she smacked my glasses right off my face! I just grab her hand and say "Gentle!" while making her hand pat me gently again. Sometimes I can just say "Gentle" without grabbing her hand and she will get it.

She's also big on grabbing a fistfull of boob and pinching really hard. I'm trying to teach her to stopping the same method as above. It's helped with the pinching, but the slapping is because she gets so excited and I think it's a bit much to expect a 9 month old to regulate her emotions, but I keep doing it because I want to be consistent in the hopes it will sink in sooner rather than later ;-)

  • We have a slapper, and ohgoodgod, the hair pulling. It is the one instance where I give myself a free pass for cussing because when he gets a hold of that hair and starts tugging it's too painful for just an "ow!" He has also started biting when he gives kisses. So it's pretty awesome to walk into work with a bonafide hickey on your cheek. From your baby.

  • I have a pincher! It's almost like a release of emotion for her... she'll do it a lot when she's tired or upset. It hurts like crap! The other day she grabbed the back of my arm and pinched really hard when I picked her up. I yelled, "Ow, no!" and it made her cry :( So then I felt bad, but seriously... I'm tired of the pinching already!

  • I had been thinking about posting about this recently. DS is a huge pincher. It drives me batty. And if you yell out "ow" he already thinks it's funny. Today I took his hand off my arm, held it and said "don't pinch mommy!" Which immediately after I almost felt silly. I truly wonder if right now that makes any difference to him.
