Prodromal labor?

Calling it that makes me feel more optimistic than "false labor." I've had several times in the past few days when I thought "This is it!" My OB even told me at my last appointment not to bother making one for next week because he didn't think I'd make it.

But every time things get started--sometimes even after a night of contractions--they stop again. ARGH. I am 37 weeks tomorrow and grateful the babies are doing well, but I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever. :(

(And I did make another OB appointment.)

Re: Prodromal labor?

  • Great job making it 37 weeks! I'm 36 w 2 d and I know what you mean. I've been having horrible pain and contractions, even so far as going to the hospital today, but nope. It's the second time for a false alarm and now I'm so gun-shy I probably won't come in again until they pop out lol I want to make it as long as possible for the babies' sake, but I am sooooooo over this pregnancy. Again, great job/congrats and you really are almost there!

  • Woohoo congrats on making it to 37 weeks! I know it's sooo hard but it's so great to make it that far! It's too bad your OB is getting your hopes up, but you are very very close!

  • @thesecretis42 Sorry to hear you're uncomfortable too! I think the hardest part for me is after so many "false starts" it feels like it's never going to be the real thing ... and I feel like I made a big mistake in telling people about them, now they always want a day-by-day update on what my body is doing, and I'm just over it! I've even stopped telling my husband about them ... I'll probably end up popping them out in the car or something, lol.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies, it really helps talking to people who are/have been there. :)

  • Congrats on making it this far. I wish I had the chance to make it that far and feel contractions.. I know, I'm nuts :P I wasn't even close to labour starting when I had to have my c/s. My cervix was soft but no dilation/effacement. You won't be pg forever ;) I promise. Hang in there momma.
