fussy and tired 8 mo

Is anyone else's 8 month old really fussy lately and sleeping a lot. Is this normal?

Ours is dropping her third nap so her sleep is all over the place and shes more tired than usual because she's not getting enough sleep.

she's very clingy now. She used to be fine playing by herself for a while but recently she cries when I put her on the floor and go to the kitchen where she can't see me..it's separation anxiety I believe.
