Okay, that sounds good! He was talking about trying to find thermals to wear under his pants. I'm pretty sure he'd roast in them. I do think I need to get him a good coat and gloves, though.
I don't think he'll be outside much. He'll just be there for work. The company he's with has known about the job since summer but kept putting it off. Real smart guys. Real smart!
Yeah, normal clothes should be fine. If he's going to be at one of the Interior bases, the walk from the car to the office will be pretty cold, but if he's in southcentral or southeast, it won't be bad.
Military base? Bring long underwear. I'm in the military and have worked in several northern locations where we didn't have adequate heat. I routinely wore long underwear under my uniform all winter long - and I work in offices with civilians.
