MW gone without a word.

I went for my weekly doctor appointment on Tuesday, I was told my midwife was no longer with the practice. My DH and I were heart broken. We had been with her since wk 12 and hoped to have here until the end. Now at 38 wks 1 day I have my next two appointments with two other doctors at the practice.

I know it's going to be ok and the baby will come no matter who is there to catch her, but it was a shock and now I have to interview two more people and make a choice with just days to go. It's stressful and DH doesn't want one of the head doctors we meet already. He feels like he is not going
to follow our birth plan.

I just want a great good experience, this is my first child and maybe my only. I hope one of these doctors will be cool.

Boo. My original doctor retired from deliveries, and I definitely felt challenged by the situation. Hang in there. I hope the new personalities are great and facilitate a picture perfect delivery for you.

Thanks ladies. I'm sure everything will be ok in the end. As long as my baby girl is healthy and in my arms. I was just shocked and of course they wouldn't tell me why or where she went.

Wow that really sucks...I totally feel for you because when I went into labor neither one of the two doctors in my practice was on call (how is that possible??) so I ended up being stuck with an on call doctor at the hospital who I never met and I was not a huge fan of...at the end of the day the baby arrived safely and I guess that's what matters, but it was still disappointing that the people I saw through my whole pregnancy were switched with a total stranger at the end...good luck to you! Hopefully you pick someone both you and DH are comfortable with

At my 32 week appointment the medical assistant hands me a paper stating that my OB/Gyne of the last 15 years and who delivered my 3 other children would no longer be delivering babies!! Needless to say I stood there stunned for about 15 min, then I actually cried in the car!! Sorry this happened to you too! But the timing sucks monkey balls!! 2 weeks!! Boo MW!

Bummer for sure. In my practice if you deliver on a weekend you get the on call dr from the practice. With my first kid we got the one dr I didn't like during the interviews. During delivery I found myself getting unhappy with the dr. However even just a few days after as I reflected he was a fabulous dr and did absolutely everything following my lead. I was incredibly grateful. Hopefully it all works out for you and you find someone and peace with the process!
