Post D&C question...

I had a d&c yesterday. I should have been about 11 weeks and 3 days.  They gave me pitocin to help my uterus contract (I guess).  I had some cramping after the surgery (no more than a period) and then felt ok. It took a while to get the whole IV bag to empty, so that made me more restless. 

Fast forward to today - I feel like I was just in a car accident.  Besides the sore throat I already had, I am now achey across my shoulders, neck, and even a little sore in my rib area.  I am resting at home today & just took 400mg of IBUProfen.  My Dr gave me a prescription for 600mg prescription strength IBUProfen, but I have to drive into town and pick it up today.  Hoping it will help. 

Has anyone else experienced this sort of discomfort they day after a d&c? I called my sister (she had 2 before having my niece) but she said she doesn't remember feeling this way after either of her d&cs. She suggested maybe it was the pitocin.  Any insight?

I'm sorry for your loss and that you are feeling so bad. I didn't have that feeling after my d&c, but I think they gave me cytotec to soften/relax my cervix before the procedure. I didn't get pitocin. If you are concerned, call your dr. Hope you feel better! *hugs*
