Why won't you sleep?!?!

E has had difficulty napping all week. And last night, she was up every hour. At 3 I finally gave her some Tylenol in case it was her teeth and had to rock her for an hour before she finally fell asleep.

I don't know if she is having trouble adjusting to the new house? Or if it's her bottom molars coming in? Or related to this cold we have had forever. Ugh, I'm so tired!

I guess there is no point to this post but to whine. Anyone else sleepy today?

That sucks. Sleep issues are no fun for anybody. I hope you guys figure it out soon!!

Hahs not since the time change!!!!! Probably a combination or moving and possibly teething. You alway wonder if Rhey get scared being in a new room when they randomly wake up. Hopefully tonight is better!

It's probably a combo of everything!!  Bottom molars have been the worst for us so far, so that very well could be it.  They're huge in DS's little mouth - so I would imagine it's pretty painful!  Hope today is better for you guys!

Thanks for asking @chiwifey! I'm finally feeling better. I'm still down 2 lbs for the first tri, but slowly getting my appetite back. I'm drinking my first coffee in several months and it is rocking my world!
Being sick and stressed with the move and not getting enough sleep is pretty exhausting. But hopefully I can get some rest this weekend when mh gets back and feel better next week.

If E has been congested for 7 to 10 days without improvement, could be an ear infection or sinus infection. I know everyone is different, but our pedi's guidance is 10 days without improvement plus sleeping or eating issues equals a sick visit.

Hope she feels better soon!!!

I'm also guessing it's a combo of everything!  It's so tough when our LOs won't sleep!  When does YH come back.  I can't imagine being pregnant and not getting any sleep.

M's also going through a difficult phase lately, but I won't complain/whine because even though he was fighting naps and bedtime, he was  nothing like your little stubborn E!  Hope she sleeps better soon.  We mamas are tired!

I feel ya TJ - I'm exhausted today myself, which doesn't totally make sense.

When I picked up LO at daycare yesterday she hadnt napped all afternoon and had been  up since 12:00. She was EXHAUSTED when we got home. She slept from 6:45 -5:45 this morning, waking up twice and the second time I moved her into her RNP in my room, as DH was out of town and I needed to do what would make things easier for me.......Not a bad night sleep at all, don't know why I am so tired!

My LO has been going down at the same time, but waking up earlier the past two days and not napping well since the time change - hoping it passes soon!

@pb_bride He comes back Friday night. When does yours get back? How are you coming on party prep? You hanging in there?

@TJ1979, Thanks for asking. MH comes home tomorrow afternoon.  He's in charge of cleaning the house and putting up decorations (party isn't until Sunday).  I'm mostly just doing grocery shopping to make sure we have the foods we need, and will start prepping for the foods tonight/tomorrow.

@callmeal I was wondering about that. I keep thinking with an ear or sinus infection she would have a fever, and she hasn't. Our pedi is very laid back and not at all aggressive with treating illnesses.

Thankfully he's home tonight. His past two trips have been three nights each, so this one nighter is actually a breeze!

I shouldn't be so tired - that was a good night sleep for LO - but DH usually takes the wake up shift and I go back to bed for an hour or so.... guess I need that hour!

And yes - I hope to god we can get her back to her old wake up time. 5:45 is really going to be rough on a weekend

 I get it. I hate unnecessary antibiotics, too. I will say that DD has had double ear infections with bulging drums with no fever twice. Normally, I think you're right that infection = fever.... apparently my kid is the exception Hang in there!

@mdiblasi10 I am liking it a lot so far! I really like the neighborhood. I'll be much happier once mh gets back and we get some real unpacking done, not just triage unpacking. The house is great as is, but also has a lot of potential to be even better.

J had a bad stretch from 2:15-3:45. DH held her. When he tried to put her down asleep, she would wake and scream. Finally at 3:45 after another failed dismount, she was screaming so loud you would think he was water boarding her. I grabbed her snuggled her, then she started crying for me. I stuffed boobie in her mouth and she was asleep in bed with me about 5min later. 

I'm tired i was up to teach at the gym at 5:30. DH must be exhausted.

Sorry you're tired too @mrs.amydylan. E won't even nurse in bed anymore, she just tries to play. Enjoy that while it lasts! Hope you all sleep better tonight.

That's wonderful! I am so happy for you guys. Once you're unpacked, it will help a lot. MH gets home from a business trip tomorrow too. Yay for having them back!

@ducky719 This reminds me of the video where the kid just would not go to sleep for the dad. So finally the dad puts on a wig and uses a high pitched voice to tell him he needs to go to sleep. And he does, right away!

Neither of the boys had fevers with their ear infections. D had been congested for four weeks and C would wake up crying in the middle of the night. I hope you get some sleep.

@TJ1979...my guy has his top teeth coming through, the time change, the move, and now a 3h time zone adjustment. His sleep has been in the toilet!!!!! I have no suggestions, just an ability to sympathize. He won't even let anyone else hold him so I think its mostly the move. But now we are in our new province alone together for a few days and all i want is a nap!!

Hugs @kaf7. If it makes you feel better, she's doing much better with sleeping. The first few days were rough, plus mh was gone and my parents were here and her schedule was all out of whack. If you stick to your usual schedule it may go better for you.

I got him down at 8:30pm last night and he slept through to 7:30am!!!! best sleep Ive had  since he was born! Glad sleep is a bit better at your house now too.

Well he screamed for 1.5h last night when I put him down...I'm sure he thought I was trying to put him to bed at 5pm based on the time difference. When he finally fell asleep he slept until 7am though! He's really ramping up his gnawing behaviour though. I just went in to do a 5min check after putting him down for a nap and usually he reaches to grab and climb up me...now he just grabbed my sleeve to chew on it. Poor guy.
I wish happy sleep dust for all of you!

@kaf7 - my LO has been the SAME way with the gnawing the past few days. Gnawing on her boot, gnawing on my jeans, my sleeve - and Saturday night she went to town on my necklace..... It's a rough go - and she's a slow teether. I feel like I could easily have another month like this. UGH.

@JBDamonM - at least my guy isn't screaming much in the day. Just happy to chew. Is Molly cranky about it?

Nope! She's fine all day, but whimpering a lot at night and wanting to sleep while being held, and walked around. Ugh. Her gums are swollen though, hopefully this won't go on forever like her first tooth did.

@jbdamonm have you considered an amber teething necklace? E cried for 24 hours straight with her first tooth. Then we got the necklace. Didn't even notice her next tooth. I got mine from inspired by Finn online. With the ship time it might not get to you till the next tooth (depending on how long this tooth takes) but I swear by the necklace.

@TJ1979 - That may be the only thing I have not tried. Does E wear hers all the time? I should probably look into it as LO went to town the other night on my necklace!

They aren't actually supposed to chew on it, the essential oils from the amber absorb into their skin giving an effect similar to Tylenol. We only take hers off for baths, but they recommend that you take it off or wrap it twice around the ankle and cover with a sock for sleeping. She rarely even notices that it's there, and brings it to us asking us to put it back on after a bath.
