Induction vent..

My doctors office likes to do 39 week inductions. Which he asked me how I felt about being induced. I told him I'd like to get as close to 40 weeks as I could, and there was no arguement. Well he goes on vacation the week I could possibly be induced. Am I crazy for wanting to keep him baking till full term? Not to mention I'm in the process of unpacking from a major 18 hr move. So NOTHING is setup. My EDD is the 16th, I'm 1cm dilated and about 70% effaced. The H and I are about to start sexercising here soon(within the week) to see if we can get the ball rolling. As much as I want our squish, I feel crazy for wanting to let him bake(in no way did my doctor make me feel this way). I've just got friends who are due around the same time and are upset their doc won't let them go a week early.

Not crazy at all. My doctor has offered to induce at 39 weeks but has no problem with me wanting to wait. I was induced at 41 weeks last time but want to give LO a chance to come on her own.

Yeah, I agree with PP, if there isn't a medical reason, better to let baby bake. Good for you for standing your ground!

I definitely agree, not crazy at all! Let LO keep baking unless there is a medical reason.

I feel like the baby will come when she/he is ready.  Unless there is a medical reason to induce I don't understand why docs do it!?!?!??!!?

My doc also mentioned doing an induction at 39 weeks. Last week I was 37 weeks, 3+ cm, and 80% so she said I would do well but I'm still not sold on the idea. I decided to start my maternity leave on Monday hoping that I'll have a few days to get organized and also hoping that little one comes on her own next week. My DD came naturally at 39 weeks.
