LO's 'Artwork'

Our nanny has art time with DD and the other little girl every day.  So EVERY DAY DD brings home an art project.  Of course at this point it is mostly artwork created by the nanny with maybe a scribble by DD.

Are you keeping your LO's artwork or creations?  If so, what are you doing with them?

Re: LO's 'Artwork'

  • Well, we don't have artwork everyday, but usually I put them on the refrigerator and then when ds and dh are together and ds points to them, dh takes them down and gives to ds to play with. So then they end up getting crumpled and ripped up and go into the recycling bin in pieces :(

  • I only keep stuff with hand prints.  DS still doesn't "get" coloring, so we don't have scribble art.

  • Our lo usually brings stuff home from daycare almost everyday. We hang it on the fridge, and I keep them for a while. I've thought of making mobiles put of some of them (they are themed, like leaves and pinecones he has made), but usually lo will get a hold of some of them and then destroy some of the pieces.

  • Our nanny loves to do artwork.  So, we have the same things.  We just throw it away.  When he starts making the projects, we'll start saving some.

  • I am keeping all of his firsts, like his first Mothers Day artwork, first Thanksgiving and first Halloween projects. I keep them in a folder in the filing cabinet.... except the Mother's Day... it still hangs on the fridge

  • Exactly what @latnprincess said. There is SO much of it. I actually need to go through it soon and just keep the hand print ones and other special ones. That's just school stuff. I'm constantly throwing out drawings and coloring pages and writings. I really get sad but I try not to think about it, we really can't keep everything.

  • DS1 is almost 3 and I've tried to keep everything.  Its in one of those big rubbermaid containers right now.  I'll probably go through it when it gets really full and just keep a few things.  How I'll pick and choose, I don't know.   :-?

DS2 hasn't really done any real art projects.  He has colored a few times in DS1's coloring books and done a few finger paintings on canvas for birthday gifts to others.  I'll start his own rubbermaid container when he's a bit older.

  • Appleseed draws all the time, she loves scribbling on everything she can haha.

We don't get artwork sent home that often, what has been sent home is on the fridge. I'll keep the firsts and then the important ones from there. We also send some to my parents or to my IL's because they like fridge art haha.
