I dunno. I still get the thought that there's some poor chinese orphanage out there having kids making diapers. Cuz I'm cynical like that (way too much time on Reddit).
I just ordered some Assuntas because of the high praise they get on this board (at least quality vs price) - I didn't realize they were coming from China too (guess I should have done more research).
Why does it seem like every "off" brand is ultimately Alvas?
My theory is that if it's a pocket and it's less the 15$ it's probably coming from China.
Does kawaii come from china?
Yes - they are very upfront about this on their website. The company itself is based in Canada, but the products are manufactured in China. They are not the same as Alvas, though.
And Nana - I totally agree with your theory...except that if the diaper is over $15 there's still a chance it's coming from China. Both of my RaRs are made in China, as are my Grovias.

Yeah. I only have BB and BG really. I'm one of those weirdo's that won't buy Chinese cheapies though. I've had them before though and I always felt like they lacked quality.
As PPs said, Alva doesn't do covers (no experience, just repeating).
I just got my Assunta covers in the mail (on Friday). Obviously no actual experience with them yet, but the quality feels fine, and they are cute! (My only minke covers so far) The do not have the Alva tag on them.
They actually are part of a non profit (little flower project) that works with abandoned children in need. I think that's pretty cool, so I feel better about buying "China cheapies" and hope they work well!
I just got a couple of the covers, I like them so far. They sent me a free gerber bib and some flushable liners too. And a pamphlet about their organization.
I was nervous because I ordered them 3 weeks before my due date, and wanted my tiny covers before she gets here (not 3 weeks after!) - but it was all good
Re: I could be wrong but...
Yup, totally says Alva. LOL
ETA So does the pink one.
BUSTED! LOL

I just hope my tiny ones get here before she's born!
