Hi! I'm a TTTC-er hoping to join you ladies here someday. I'll be 28 in 4 days. In my CD3 b/w levels for the last two months my FSH was high (13 something and 12.9). We have our treatment consult on 1/7 and I have a feeling they might suggest going straight to IVF.
My RE is very supportive and doesn't see any reason, given my age, why we can't conceive with my eggs, but he did say it might take longer and there would be an increased risk of miscarriage. I'm looking for a little hope here...any high FSH success stories using your eggs? Any suggestions for us as we start down this road? We're so scared. Thank you!
Re: Looking for high FSH success stories
I think a lot of women on this board have found that taking wheatgrass (either in tablet or powder form) helps lower FSH levels. You might want to start that just to see if it helps. You can find both the powder and the tablets at Whole Foods. I recommend the tablets; the powder is a horrible texture and makes the whole ordeal last longer than it needs to.
My FSH tests were in the 9s & 10s, and we got bfps 2 times in 3 yrs on our own, both ended in m/c. I stim very well with clomid or clomid/inj. combo w/ iui's but never got a bfp with 4 tries. IVF #1 was the sticky baby but I also started acupuncture 8 weeks before stimming started. Maybe that helped? The acu office also had me on fish oil supplements. If you have any sperm issues I'd def. try iui or ivf before using donor eggs.

I responded on your post on TTTC. I also did do acu a couple of times.

It's a scary diagnosis but your RE's right. You've got age on your side but it may take a bit longer than most.
Pics in siggy of our 2 high FSH miracles.
The first shouldn't have happend according to my RE (only 3 eggs retrieved after max stim IVF cycle).
The second REALLY shouldn't have happened according to my RE (unmedicated pregnancy first ovulation post-weaning). He'd basically told us that we needed to come back right away for another IVF if we wanted another child but he gave us very grim odds based on our first IVF cycle and my poor yield.
Keep in mind that your focus is on quality, not quantity. Ignore all those PCOS'ers retrieving 24 eggs. Your goal is to cook just a couple the exact amount of time, not to harvest a ton of them and hope to find one good one.
I personally am a big fan of "The Infertility Cure" book by Radine Lewis. I totally changed my diet, did wheatgrass, accupuncture, the works. Any and everything I could to maximize my chances.
Did any one thing "work"? I have no clue. But mentally I needed to feel like I was doing something to help the situation.
Hang in there. It's a tough road and it may be a longer road that others but I am confident you can conceive using your own eggs.

Hi there,
I got pregnant on IUI #3 with Follistim. I have high FSH (around 12) and a low antral follicle count, and did not have a great response to stims. I am 31-- you are even younger and your FSH is not that high. You have a very good chance of getting pg with your own eggs, and it sounds like your RE is great. I hope to see you over here for good very soon!
