New, Saying hello!

Hello all!  A friend told me about these boards, and I can tell just from a little bit of poking around today, I have a lot to learn from you all!

A little background on me:  I had a baby girl in January 2012 by c-section.  The doc accidentally left some placenta behind, so 9 weeks later when that was discovered I was given a D&C to remove it.  That went horribly wrong, my uterus was ruptured, my bowel was sucked thru the rupture and shredded.  A year of repair surgeries ensued.  I'm lucky to be alive, and lucky to have the daughter we have.  We were told thru all of this that my fertility was in tact, I would just need a c-section again.  After trying and failing (naturally), we now know that they also destroyed one of my ovaries and fallopian tubes and removed them without telling me.  The remaining tube and ovary are functional but too scarred and we have a very high risk of ectopic pregnancy.  So, many, many tests later, our only option is IVF for #2.  We start stimulation cycles in a month, and are hoping for the best.

I'm looking forward to learning the ins and outs of this infertility world from you all, and hope I can contribute as well.

I am sorry you find yourself here, but welcome! Cant wait to get to know you better threw the threads. I applaud you for being in good spirits after everything you've been through, though! That sounds intense. Good luck in your journey with IVF, we will be here rooting you on through it :-)

Ugh! That is CRAZY! I can't believe they just took your ovary and tube and didn't bother to mention anything- not to mention, all of that happened because they left placenta during your surgery in the first place. Well I hope the hospital is paying for your effing IVF cycles.  :-q

Oh my goodness! What a horrible situation these doctors have put you in! I actually have a friend who was in a very similar situation (oddly enough, I know it's probably pretty rare), and she finally had triplets a week before my DD was born. Good luck with your IVF and welcome!
